I thought Sylla was really poor, myself. Ran around half heartedly and didn't seem to be at all interested.
Please someone tell me I was wrong and totally missed what he did

You weren't wrong Stainesey. He was the weak link all afternoon. I thought he tried but he had a very strong centre half marking him who gave him zero change.

It was obvious to the whole ground that Washington would replace Sylla. The stupid booking left Olly with no alternative but to sub him.

Agreed. Didn't really notice the marking on him to be honest, just that when chasing the ball (any ball) he just seemed to be going through the motions.
Thought Washington looked far more 'up for it' when he came on.
I know he's not very popular with a lot of R's fans but I'd love to see the young lad start banging them in, 'cos he really isn't lacking in effort.

I have been harsh on Washington's ability rather than his application on here. Rather than blame him personally, I blame the hierarchy who signed him. I think he really tries hard and I hope there is a player hiding in there somewhere. I suppose a run of a few goals might help his confidence. He was unlucky not to score today. He did make a difference when he came on although it is hard for him as due to his size, he is not a target man. I will continue to support him at the ground and I really hope he can change my mind.

Agree. Had a good chance to score in the first half, but somehow managed to not even get a shot away. Didn't like the blatant hand ball either. Admittedly, I've not seen that much of him, but when I have he's been awful, like a poor man's Polter (which says a lot).

I still think Washington can establish himself at this level. We tend to forget he had never played Championship football and as soon as he got his chance he was played out of position for ages. It didn't help that he was bigged up far too much by the club as well. We missed Polter yesterday I thought.

He always handball's it. He was doing it quite a bit a few weeks back. He looked sluggish and uninterested yesterday. The miss in the first half was embarrassing for a professional striker. He didn't even get a shot away!
I hope he is not sulking after Hollows comments?
Last week against Reading his positioning was awful and in the 2nd half when Wszolek crossed the ball (the one which Mackie was running on to) he got in the way, took the ball and fluffed the shot.
Agree he is a poor mans Polter and tbh he wasn't that good.
We need 2 decent strikers.

We all would 'love to see the young lad start banging them in'. Any idea when he's going to start doing that or even remotely threatening it except against the wooden statues that pass for central defenders in the lower leagues? Move on. He's had enough chances.

Didnt say I rated him, but as with Mackie, he plays for QPR, he puts in effort, he gets my support.

Okay, anyone know exactly what happened between Janokovic and Bircham. You can definately see Bircham push/punch him.
Fulham guy was upset that they encroached his dugout area, but there was something going on previously to do with Hall getting treatment

No doubt we will be heavily fined for it...when they get Strouds report.

Jokanovic pushed Hall or the physio while he was getting treatment to try and retrieve the ball. Bircham kicked off.

It seems to go off when Jankovic pushes Hall out of the way whilst he's being treated.

I have to disagree about Washington. Sylla was off the pace today but as soon as he was replaced by CW our ability to hold the ball upfield disappeared and the pressure Fulham were able to apply grew significantly. Washington simply isn't tall or physical enough for this league.
And I have to disagree with you! Each to their own opinion though.

IMO Washington played well yesterday & occupied the right hand side of their defence, which stopped them going forward. IF he was that bit taller he would have given them even more problems & he wasn't helped that Pawel was then only moving at 70% mobility due to injury.

I have a bit of time for Sylla.

He looks like the pace of the Championship catches him a bit off guard and he wants more time but he does do well enough holding the ball up and he has a bit of a poacher's instinct. Isn't also the top scorer still at the club this season?

We need another striker anyway and hopefully bringing someone in will take the pressure off him while he gets more settled.

I do believe he'll be much better by next season.

I don't dislike him (double negative) but do think we need somebody that'll thwack every half chance goalwards without waiting for a second invitation.

Think I posted about the same earlier.

I don't understand the criticism of Sylla here. He had zero crosses all the time he was on the pitch, but from scraps or nothing made several chances for Mackie and a couple for himself. When we are basing our attacking mostly on hopeful punts without address we need a target man. When he went off Fulham got far more of the play and equalised. If we could have got Pawel going down the wing likely Sylla would have scored.
