I agree with you, I'd have put Mackie out wide and have had Phillips or Hoillett in the 10 role to give us more numbers in the middle of the park.
We look really short on quality all over the pitch except in goal so far. Need to fill up our midfield or they'll get 6 again. Henry has to come on. All he's done is Washington for Polter.
We have a squad loaded with midfielders and only have one fragile but complete one amongst them (Faurlin). How can every other team get committed, hard working central midfielders who can pass but we have an abundance of underachieving specialists. I've not seen anything from Tozser since he joined that suggest he's actually a footballer.
