Rangers to lock horns with SPL side Dundee United at The Hive tonight ...

QPR play their latest pre-season friendly fixture this evening, against Scottish Premier League side Dundee United.

Following hot on the heels of our tour to Italy, Chris Ramsey's side are back on home soil, with tonight's fixture taking place at The Hive, the home of Barnet Football Club.

Jackie McNamara's SPL outfit finished in fifth-place in the table last season.

A League Cup final run and a Scottish Cup campaign that ended at the quarter-finals stage were the highlights, in what really was a season of two halves.

In truth, it was a disappointing end to the season – one that promised so much at the beginning. Up until the start of 2015, the Tangerines were challenging for all three domestic trophies.

There were wins aplenty during the first half of the campaign – but a struggle for them from February until the end of the season saw United’s challenge falter.

Finishing fifth in the SPL meant they also missed out on Europe.

Tonight’s friendly fixture is likely to represent R’s fans with their first opportunity to watch the club’s six new signings in action.

Ramsey has added Massimo Luongo, Ben Gladwin, Jamie Mackie, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Seb Polter and Tjaronn Chery to his ranks already this summer – and all six could feature in Edgware.

Kick-off at The Hive is 7.30pm, and you can watch the clash LIVE on QPR PlayerHD.

I wonder if there is coverage for us guys in the cheap seats? We got rather spoilt last pre-season.with all the free streaming content and also the season before that.

With a QPR PlayerHD subscription, during the upcoming season, will there be any live video streams for our matches, other than post-match highlights, or will it just be commentary?

Bet365 had livestream coverage for quite a number of our matches in past Championship seasons, especially when we were in the promotion mix. I currently have a token account balance of $1.00 to keep it active.

Probably not on but anyone know how long it would take me to get to The Hive from Luton Airport. I am due in there 7:40 this evening. Must get to Northampton but could take in second half possibly?

Shouldn't take too long - but it's all dependent on the traffic - you could do it in about half hour; could take 3 times as long if there is traffic.

Given it's only a friendly I'm disproportionately looking forward to going to this, I have serious football withdrawal symptoms.

Thanks mate. Possibility of making it in time for the second half but could be a wasted journey. As I would have to head back up to Northampton I'll give it a miss I think. Shame.

The return of the match day threads. Cheers Nines. The season is closing in, just two weeks away. Looking forward to "New" Queens Park Rangers, still work to be done though.
But I don't think we'll see much movement in the defensive area until the Premier League squads are announced as I think the defensive reenforcements will be mainly loans.

I was going to go but completely can't be arsed. Would rather watch Celtic hopefully hilariously go out of Europe.

This is Celtic's opponents tonight and a selection of their goal celebrations....

I know this is silly but am looking forward to the football starting.......despite all the downers we still keep coming back for more.....

It's the same every season, all the high hopes and expectations, only to be flattened by mid September - fingers crossed the team will perform as well as we all hope

Great celebrations
We could start this up bringing exposure to difficult social problems
that need attention

Knife Crime Simulation
Rape Simulation
Robbery on the public by the banks
The war on terror

All done in the style of mime artistry apart from Jamie Mackie who sings aloud "I am the captain of the Fish Finger" through a wifi mic to the PA system

The Fish Finger is the club's new mode of transport as we now travel away by canal boat

I just treated myself to QPRPlayer which is showing the game and seems value at £38 considering I won't be seeing as much live as in previous seasons.
