I just wanted to announce that I will be joining finglasqpr and the Irish R's contingent, plus likely many other not 606 regulars for the Charlton game on Sat Nov 23rd.

As a soon to turn 60, 3rd generation West Kilburn R (as Bushman put it, based on my Dad's family addresses - Bradiston Rd & Fernhead Rd), this is quite something for me, since I have not seen QPR play at Loftus Road since 1975 (moved to Canada in 1976), 38 years ago.

I'm really looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible, likely at whatever pub is selected (Crown & Sceptre? Connington Arms? etc.) for pre-match drinks, lunch? I will proudly be wearing my 4XL home shirt, that my wife keeps saying fits me too snugly and I shouldn't be wearing in public - really glad I listened to Flyer's Lotto shirt sizing advice before ordering!

I've read many times from afar about the match get-togethers - can't believe that I'm actually going to be joining you all.

    Good man, Killy, eh!

I'm hoping to get over with my Dad (80) and the young lad (15) for the game too.

The meet-ups have been good craic with the bunch of misfits lurking around here. There are a few dodgy lads in the group, but I will point them out to you............

So does that mean that Swords is coming over for this game?

Really looking forward to meeting each and every one of you.

This sounds like a great meet up! Well done Kilburn, very happy for you!

Really want to try and make it myself. But economy is tight right now and I want to get to the Leicester game as well.

I might try something new this time around that doesn't include hotel. Can catch a flight that makes me miss the first 20-30 mins of the match maybe, and another back at night. It will set a new record low price total of aprox £80 incl return flight, match ticket and train.
It mean I will miss the pre match meet up but hopefully knowing the Irish contingent we can enjoy a couple of beers after the game, so that I can refine my Guinness drinking skills :)

Looking forward to perhaps meeting you too Norway, before, during or after the Charlton game.

Now I am quite partial myself to draft Guinness, especially when I was in Ireland on a family vacation in 1969 drinking it poured from the tap, that all the little village stores seemed to have, when I was aged just 15. For some odd reason, my parents let me go out to pubs alone - one time with a local mate, I even bought a bottle of Poteen, transacted in a County Clare pub washroom, near a beach where our caravan was set-up, from a guy called Rolly for a pound, which my parents were quite thrilled about - they loved it in coffee!

Now my Dad was a bottled Guinness person, but he was fussy - it had to be bottled in St. James Gate, Dublin and not Park Royal, London - he said he could definitely taste the difference (the River Liffey water?)

Hey Kilburn, I am chuffed to bits for you. I know from previous posts that you are pushing the boat out in order to be able to afford this trip so well done to you.

Your story regarding this being your first game in 38 years is absolutely brilliant. Somebody with contacts should inform the club and have them print it in the programme.

All of us from Not606 will welcome you with open arms and the Irish R's will ensure you are an Honourary Irish R for the day.

I hope you have a brilliant day.

I will be suitably posed in my new 4XL, form fitting home shirt, that I will also be proudly wearing Nov 23rd on Charlton match day, when I meet finglasqpr and the Irish R's, plus I imagine a good number of others here, at 12 noon at the Crown & Sceptre for pre-game drinks & lunch.

Culinary critic? In the olden days, didn't Kings have someone sample their food, prior to consumption, for fear of poisoning?

Yeah, but the food taster did normally leave some for the king.

Flanman is travelling over from Holland so I will be getting him a ticket next week along with Kilburn.

Current price for Ryanair flight is 63 euros so there's still time for any late additions.

Swords, it would be great if you could join us. You could be at Dublin Airport in 5 minutes flat.
