I attach a very interesting relfection (Antti's Knee Jerks) from a different forum (LFW) which is worth reading: https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...84/anttis-six-knee-jerks-qpr-2-brentford-2/#3
I don't recall saying the players are 'league 1 at best" if you can show that comment then I will respond. I think what I have said in the past is that 'Mackie is not good enough'. 'We are going to Poundland now' however I may have said 'Holloway is a league One manager at best', which is right when you look at the football and his record with us. My problem with Hollow is that he didn't need to say what he did. Whether you went, left early, didn't go, live in France or sat and listened in Australia, he does not have the right to tell people when they can and cannot leave. He was very lucky that Brentford turned off otherwise I would be calling for his head again and so would quite a few. His frustrations come out of poor management and results. Funnily it's not the first time he has said something like this. I think Dave Mc article sums it up more elegantly than my passion. Simply, he was wrong to say what he did.
I agree completely ellers . For me there has to be better solutions than mackie on the pitch . Before the 100 percent brigade jump on board have a check on the stats when he has or hasn’t played. We are a better side without him in the team and that is based on fact not fiction . Summed up for me in two instances last night . The free kick he gave away outside the box with the shocking touch and the offside when he had time and space . ( basic football brain on both scenarios) . As for Holloway spot on again . We have no game plan and the rotation policy is beyond a joke. Apparently pav had a decent game vs. Derby . He got 10 mins tonight . Sadly I think Holloway will have his chance again to prove he is a league one manager .
I forgot about that incident. That sums him up TBH. All running, pushing, arms, clapping but little skill. How Smith doesn't start before him is criminal.
It wasn't a comment directed at you, I think you might have misinterpreted what I said - I was making the point that comments have been made on several occasions that players are league 1 standard - if they are we shouldn't really expect too much. Anyway, lucky or not - the players turned it round and fought to the end to get a point - it was great to follow that and feel the excitement of the moment. As for Olly, I think he had every right to express his opinion - whether you (or I) like it or not - he was upset at the way he felt the fans reacted to the imminent defeat. As I clearly said, a fan can support the club in whatever way they wish - but if you accept that then it seems harsh to deny the manager or anyone else the same opportunity to comment on events - especially when the club staff are regularly slated and called names by all and sundry. Why should fans get to call people names and abuse people on social media but get upset when they are called out - surely it's sauce for the goose and all that? Pretty sure in the calm light of day Olly will be disposed to recant his comments.
I received this email from Ian Taylor ... Morning all, Football, eh! Quite remarkable! Anyway, I just wanted to touch base in the wake of last night's match and Ian Holloway's subsequent post-match reaction As we all know, Ollie is an emotional character and - in the heat of the moment after an enthralling local derby - clearly his emotions got the better of him last night We would like to thank all the fans who stayed to the end and were rewarded with a dramatic finale. And the message we wanted to get across last night is please stick with us to the end to help us get everything we can out of a match We appreciate that you are spending your hard-earned money and giving up your valued time and your support is greatly valued by the club Regards Ian
That is nice of Ian to tell us that Ollie is sorting of apologising. Please can you reply that QprBeth is sort of apologising for all those who left early too. That will be all done and dusted then, everybody happy again
Can't see a hint of an apology there from Holloway. Just an implied apology for Holloway from Taylor Holloway not man enough to give his own apology to fans?
I stayed, so I'm not one of those that Holloway told to stay at home next time. If I was, I think I'd be even more pissed off at this non-apology by Taylor on his behalf.
He’s put a video out on twitter apologising for his comments....as before, I couldn’t give 2 ****s either way. We’ll both get over it.
http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/im-sorry-holloway-issues-message-criticising-qpr-fans He has apologised. I love him again
It's adequate - it's clear from what he said that he's been under a lot of (totally unnecessary) media pressure today for running his mouth last night. We move on...
Brentford are actually a very good side in the making and their speed and accuracy of passing on the break demonstrated the very area where Rangers are awful. In fact, it often seems to me that we are the only side in the top 2 divisions who can't counter attack effectively and this goes a long way to explaining our woeful away record. If nothing else IH needs to be answerable for that as the looping long ball down the middle which seems to be his method of counter attacking simply doesn't work at this level. That said, his ability to motivate was on show again and there have been few QPR teams that would have kept plugging away right to the end in almost hopeless circumstances as we saw last night. I don't think a single one of us diehards left in the Ellerslie even got to our feet for the first goal but pandemonium broke out between me, the missus and the other bloke still there when the equaliser went in
