Our goal was good but hall is getting run ragged by samba a corners. Hall is just not good enough on the strenth of this match so far.
It was a fortunate goal by the looks of it. Probably more a cross than shot. Samba very dangerous for them. Mackie very lively, all over their defence
We look pretty bad tbh. Mackie reminds me of a grate dane puppy, all legs and no co-ordination. He runs his heart out but has very little skill. HH goal was good but their defense went to sleep. We just don't seem to have any cohesion and look like we are just playing in the hope that something will happen, rather than trying to make it happen. Derry is looking leggy of late and has made a few errors. Ali and Barton are working hard but without much in the way of options to do anything with the ball. We've gone back to knocking it up in the air to HH to try and head it on, it's worked once but he is playing against Samba, '6.5 and 15 stone, it's not rocket science. Hopefully we will pick it up in the second half, but so far it's becoming an uncomfortable afternoon.
sound analysis loneranger, hope warnock changes tactics in the 2nd half and stops us from pumping it up to HH. we need to pick up the tempo
I can see Adel coming on fairly quickly, maybe for Derry who's not been near his best today. Samba has beaten Hall for every single header from corners/free kicks. He's certainly a big unit but Hall needs to get to grips with him. If we start running out of ideas expect Bothroyd on and the big up and under. I'd be happy with an ugly win today.
Something is not right in the camp; Man City scoring for fun against Villa; what are they going to do with us? Not looking forward to the next few games.
supposed broken metatarsal wba. well that was disappointing. i mean a points better than nothing but we really need to put teams like blackburn to bed this season, especially at home. taarabt had very little influence, fluffed 2 or 3 chances, should have had a pen near the end but that was due to salgado's clumsiness more than anything taarabt did. poor performance from him. average at best from the rest of the team today, certainly nothing like the newcastle or wolves games. pick it up rangers, a very tough few games ahead.
I noticed that, hoof it to the smallest man in football going against Samba. Today reminded me of watching football in the 70's when professional football for the main part consisted of 2 teams taking it in turns to hoof it up the pitch and hope for the best. If Adel hasn't produced the goods by January (77 days to go) then we should cash in and buy a good play maker because at the moment we look inept going forward. Barton will run all day long, but at the moment he's just defending, Ali is getting better but is still too light weight and inexperienced. The fact that we are forced to play Mackie who's been out all year shows just how short we are in depth. And now with DJ breaking a meta-tarsal means he'll be out for 2 months. Boothroyd couldn't score in the proverbial brothel, so we're forced to play HH again like last year and today we looked like that team from last year, just without the fight and determination. We certainly shouldn't panic, but the next 2 months are going to get pretty uncomfortable and I think we'll have to spend quiet a lot in January to make us more potent and give us the depth we need to survive. I do feel sorry for Warnock, no sooner than he gets some decent players than we keep getting struck with injuries which is making our team weak and ineffective. But those people who will blame him should remember just how far we've come and realize the situation we're in isn't Warnock's fault.
I think our real position is 15th at the moment going into the tough session. We will be lucky to be out of the bottom 5 come end of november
Need to scrape something from the next few games. Thought today was pretty disappointing, was expecting more of a reaction after the Fulham game.
I was dismayed by lack of football to be honest ... Where was the performance to make up for Fulham game ... It was rubbish complete rubbish
Oh dear, if Lone, North, and Dave Thomas 3 of our most positive posters are unhappy I think we have real problems.......only thing I would pick you up on Lone is the comparison to the 70s - we played our best football ever then!
I completely agree with you Dave, in the end I couldn't wait for Craptenberg to blow up for full-time. That was a dreadful performance, absolutely shocking. We had no idea, no pace & no conviction. Even when we had possession, we showed a complete lack of invention or guile, and often gave the ball away by sloppy passing. How many times was the ball banged up to HH in the hole? Even when he won a header, we were hardly, if ever getting to the second ball. None of that team should feel that they put in a good shift today, HH at a push maybe. Blackburn were the better side today, I feel we were lucky to come away with a point.
