Plenty of reports about Ronnie Edwards being on the outer at Soton. Articles suggest he wants to come back. Click bait? Can we afford him though? Liked him when he was here

Paterson was fairly good for Sunderland in their promotion, but got dropped as not considered premier league quality..... there again that applied to almost all the Sunderland side that got promoted....

We're apparently after Anthony Patterson the Sunderland keeper...

The Championship remains wide open as we approach 2026, and the opportunity is there for a host of sides to take a grip on a top six spot.

In the bid to do so, it has been reported that all of Southampton, Leicester City and QPR have had eyes on Anthony Patterson. The goalkeeper is down the pecking order at Sunderland and it had been said that he was a loan target for all three teams.

Now though, writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon has said that Sunderland are leaning towards a sale. He states those keen may
have no choice but to stump up the cash for a buy or offer a player as part of a permanent deal.

Wonder what’ll happen with Hamer. Seems sensible to keep him around if he’s open to that even if we do sign a keeper.

The name Patterson just reminds me of this. The usual clickbait sources suggest he’s more likely to go to Southampton than us or Leicester who apparently also want him.

If Sunderland want to sell, or loan with obligatory sale, Leicester don’t have any money.

Southampton sell-on ‘ansome Ronnie and use the money to buy Patterson. Looks like it’s written in the stars. Still not sure we can afford his wages but I guess if he wants to play first team football something is going to have to give on his side.
