I agree with that. I can't think of anyone better than Pulls as he has done so well with 2 struggling Clubs in the PL for years. Think TF should go for him quick, before Newcastle do.

What we need is a manager who is capable of getting us to play as a team. A manager who is not interested in egos and who will bring some stability to the club. It has to be Pulis. He has a proven record at turning under performing clubs around. He will only play players who will work hard for each other. I know Stoke weren't pretty to watch but Palace played some attractive football at times and gave their fans renewed energy and optimism.

I wonder what sort of job Chris Hughton might do for us, although the ex-Spurs crowd now seem deeply ensconced at the club if Harry were to walk, be relieved of duties?

He had an almost 60% win ratio when rather unfairly squeezed out at Newcastle, although Norwich didn't really work out for him.

    From his wiki entry:-

    Managerial style

Hughton places great emphasis on two aspects of management: "As a manager, I've got to make sure they have the correct training sessions. That they are disciplined. That creates a good environment."

When Hughton was dismissed as Newcastle manager, Kevin Nolan told The Sun, "Sometimes at clubs, when a manager goes, there will be some players who are pleased to see the back of him ... But everybody liked Chris. He was very popular, not just with the players but everyone who worked for the club."

On 6 April 2014, Norwich City announced they had "parted company" with Hughton with immediate effect. At the time of his departure Norwich were in 17th place in the Premier League, one place and five points above the relegation zone. Since leaving Norwich, Hughton has been offered, and rejected, assistant manager roles at various Premier League clubs.

Newcastle are home to Leicester on Saturday. If they lose, Pardew could go that evening...

I'll be starting the Harry stay campaign if Barton gets a management job Beth.

Beginning to think this has nothing to do with tactics, formations, fitness and everything to do with character, desire and commitment. Or lack of it.

We have good players at the club, I believe this is a far better squad than we had during the last 2 seasons in the Prem.......so why are they not performing away from home? Is it because the management are telling them to sit back and absorb the pressure in the hope off getting a 0-0 draw or a smash and grab 1-0 win? There has to be something wrong within the set up to just roll over at every away game so far, yet be totally transformed into a decent side giving decent performances at LR.

We will not survive this season based on picking up points at home, we have to start winning away, but I'm not holding my breath with Harold in charge. This is Harolds away record with us in the Prem:

DDLWDLWLLLDLLLLL.....2 wins in 16 games.....10 points out of 48, not good is it?

His team set up is out dated and he needs a radical re-think, then to tell the players to attack, Liverpool are not great at the back, so play 2 up front with Adel behind them. I thought the team that Soops posted the other day showing a 3412 formation would give any side problems, Harold has to be bold on Sunday otherwise another lilly livered loss could have him joining Pardew in the MOTD studio......

At the moment, we still have a Manager in charge.

If and when that changes, I do not want Glenda anywhere near our Managerial vacancy should a position become vacant.

As others have said, Pulis is the man with the proven track record of hauling teams out of such a mess and most importantly, he is available NOW. We need to go get him before Newcastle do.

I see the club are offering fans free coach travel (and reduced ticket prices) to the Swansea and Everton games. If our dire away form continues, they'll have to pay fans to get on those coaches!

You defintely seem to be ITK - so Sherwood would be the Pièce de résistance with the other components Glenn Hoddle & Les Ferdinand already in place, and Chris Ramsey also reported to be on his way.

    Interesting...

We could do worse - bags of enthusiasm, earnt his stripes coaching kids etc, recent footballer and could handle egos and is eager to prove himself.

Yeah I think he would be good. Also we would probably end up with the kid - only 16 but just been asked to attend the England U18 training camp. Looks like a decent fight between England and Australia to get him. Sherwood and the coaching staff have big wraps on him also.

There's no way I'd want Sherwood. His behaviour when he was at Spurs, particularly in dealing with the media, was cringeworthy. He's not the sharpest tool in the box either.

There are better candidates out there.

    What about David Moyes?
He's got a point to prove now and if we dont get him he'll be at Newcastle very soon ?

He could get us where we want to be in the next 5 years and create some stability and passion. Also got a good eye for younger players too.
It would be a case of whether he wanted to take a step back though.
Not really my favourite manger but would def do a job for us ?

EDIT: Swords I said i'd give him 12 games but to be honest, those games cant come quick enough for me. No loyalty here just willing to give him a decent chance.
Get 3-5 games to make a diffrence and its not looking good for HR right now <ok>

That's the one. He would be my choice if Harry doesn't cut the mustard sharpish. I've seen nothing to think that he will change our fortunes in the very near future. I hope I'm proved wrong, but doubt it.

Tim Sherwood is a big no from me. He's too Jeremy Kyle looking for my liking.

I think Queens is right regarding Moyes, and he has an eye for a youngster. ( Granted that, that sounds a bit operation Yew Tree. ) He has bought so many through for Everton. Rodwell, Rooney, Barkley, Osman, Dunne, Anichebe, Vaughn and Coleman. He's not afraid to start them either. He seems the perfect fit for me regarding the future of developing youth and obtaining stability at our club. Forget the Utd debacle, he was always onto a loser there. Van Gaal has spent £150m and is still no better placed in the corresponding game last season than Moyes was until now.

Also on the plus side is that Moyes would **** Rio off out of the club pretty sharpish. What's not to like?

I'd have Moyes in charge too (for all the reasons that Queens and Nines have given).

Like i say, the only problem is whether he'd want to step back 10 years and start al over again at a small club. I think everyone generally accepts that he was never going to do well at Utd but Newcastle, its facilities, players and set up must look a more attractive proposition for him.

Strangely enough, i think that his failure at UTD has actually opened up more opportunities for him, in that most teams would be willing to give him a go now and he's more "possible" than he was on his ascendency to the summit !

I'd think he could do wel with us as we have the backing and funding. I believe we have a decent enough squad of players to stay up and he could be the man to sort out our youth, including Adel, Harriman etc & Bring Ned back in.
I think Rio, BZ and poss even Joey could be looking over thier shoulders if this happened <ok>
