How many did he create with crosses? The one at Wembley was a perfect illustration of what a useless player he was, he did the hard work of winning the ball but then produced a shyte cross which Keogh obligingly teed up for OBZ. The one or two worldy goals he scored came at £40k a week over four years, bloody ridiculous...

Perhaps a one year contract at £20k a week might be in order,if he would accept it and put himself about, to put himself in the shop window for that elusive PL team he is seeking.

I'd rather get two good young League One players in at £10k a week, Hoilett had his chance, he chose to leave...

Agree with Beth's post, if he didn't want to be here, as he feels above the Championship level, then I doubt he would knuckle down and do the hard training to achieve the fitness levels now required, and as he is poor tackling, then a further reason, he would no longer fit in.
Would rather see Shodipo given more game time.

The match at Rotherham merely proves why we shouldn't take him back IMO

He has more talent than most in the Championship yet he consistently failed to make use of it constructively, and demonstrated a maddening ability to drift in and out of games

The thought of the team having to carry him for that one good game a season when we've got better, more reliable options means its a definite "no" from me

Southampton away. Ray Jones scored from the byline. Someone got injured and Rehman had a stormer at right-back.

That's the one. I think it was Kelvin Davis. Tried to usher it out and Jones mugged him. Blackstock got the other with a header I think.

When a good championship wage (unless you play for Villa or Toon) is £10k? Why would an unemployed long term disappointment be given more?

I was previously in the 'keep him camp' but have since gone over to the other side. If he'd joined us before the season started and showed commitment and dropped in wages, then yes. But now we have some momentum in this campaign and have a solid crew of midfielders and players in general. I don't want him to drop him and upset the cart, also at the risk of having a dodgy attitude and not performing.

Hoillet is still very quick over 10/20 meters or so and has it in him to scare defenders, even though he is frustratingly ineffective. He showed this in the last game of last season when he played the last 30 minutes - he looked electric, way faster than anyone else on the pitch and City were so scared Henry scored after Toillet had been on for just 4 minutes....

To get promotion and win a Cup we still need to strengthen the Squad a lot, but Junior fit and cheapish would edge us closer, even mainly coming off the Bench, just like that last May.

    It's not that,
It's the signal it sends out to the other players
It's the complete hypocracy of stating a clear vision for the club and at the first instance - reverting to type.
We're doing relatively very well - a great start points wise in the league with a few decent performances mixed with some drab - got to be ok for vast majority of fans.
And absolutely bloody excelling in the Cup - gone past 2, I say 2 rounds, with a dog ****e Premiership club to come to us.

So why, why, do we even want to consider repeating past expensive failures?

A team full of players who have bought into the current vision and who want to be here. And Sandro and Hoillet who want to be somewhere else.

Offer him 5K per week and he can come back if he grovels.

I was keeping up with you Os until you said "get promotion and win a cup" in the same sentance.......now come on this is the R's we're talking about we don't do these things.

Re Hoilett IMO he's had his chance, it looks like we may have 2, 3 or 4 better options already in the squad plus it will take him 6 months to get up to speed with the fitness level required for the style JFH wants us to play........so it's a No from me.......

I don't disagree at all. I think he's **** and agree it sends out the wrong message, could hinder Shodipo etc. I just hope/expect this is a newspaper trying to fill column inches on a slow news day.

I'd offer him £500 a week and see how much he wants to play for us. It's not like he needs the money as he's made plenty out of the club for his meagre contribution.

Like with Ravel, we are the battered wives of football. He's treated us like dogshit for years but maybe just maybe he's changed and will love us from now on.
