Shefford, there is little logic when it comes to the football authorities in this country and they have their own rules - precedent has been set many times for clubs breaking these rules, so very little to appeal against.

Say hello to The Shefford Tandori for me, it's own of my favourite curry houses..

The potentially crucial difference between our situation and that of Luton Town is that the agent we dealt with was registered with Fifa but not with the FA.

That's very different from dealing with someone registered no where.

    That's a possibility.
That is not. To have a case, you would have to prove both that the information printed in The Sun is true, and that the authorities volunteered the information. It may or may not be true, but it certainly wasn't volunteered. Regardless, the Sheffield United scenario has shown that £20m is considered adequate compensation for being wrongly denied a place in the Premier League.
I think this is plausible. Although it seems implausible that this would have been allowed to drag on for this long if there was nothing at all in the situation. Far more likely IMO is:

I expect QPR will be found guilty but deduction points at this stage of the season would be so destructive not only for QPR but many other clubs too that I cannot see it happening.

Probably a larger fine though than for West Ham as since the West Ham case QPR should have been more away of the rules and the consequences of breaking them

Whatever happens it will be a whitewash for some and too much for others. QPR ended up top of the pile for a reason, they were the best team over the whole of the season. ok they slipped up a few times but not as often as all the others.
What I want to know is why this has taken so long to surface? Surely the FA or FL or whoever knew about this as soon as Sr. Faurlin became a QPR player and his registration documents were lodged.
Points deductions might be fair but to start that now is not, points should have been docked (if at all) a lot earlier. A fine will not hurt them with all the income from the EPL. Holding those actually responsible will be difficult as they will all deny any wrong doing.

I have a horrible feeling there will be no punishment as the FA/FL will contrive to evade making a decision that actually matters, and there will be a suspended punishment and a don't do it again warning.

For people saying they should be aware of the rules after Tevez saga, apparently it happened before the third party law was introduced

The FA need to be consistent. I have for years thought though that they need to decide the amount for a fine as a percentage of the wealth of the club, rather than standard issue fines, as for some clubs its a day's pay, for some its 4 months' pay.
Either way it needs to be sorted and soon.

But, Gibbs, then the whole finances of a club would have to be totally transparent, and as some club are wholly owned by 1 person or group, who do not like their business being made public knowledge this ain't gonna happen!!!

You sure? Tevez left West Ham in 2007, and they were punished for it (albeit much later). Faurlin joined QPR in 2009.

Any punishment should have been decided long before promotion was decided and Faurlin should have been suspended whilst his transfer was under investigation

True, just hate seeing top clubs and players being fined what they earn in about 1 hour, whilst others are fined such a higher percentage

What the FA will do is impose a points reduction for next season. This will reduce the effective relegation zone from the Premiership to two places. In the past the Championship play-off winners are usually relegated after 1 season. The consequence - the nice cosy set up of the FA Premiership will be maintained with only one established team getting relegated. What they really want is no relegation but they can't have it so they will try to find other means to achieve it.

QPR hav just made it easier for them

Someone mentioned on 606 that the prem has different rules so a points deduction would not occur for next season unless qpr where still a champ team, no idea whether this is true as I had previously said they should have points docked for next season rather than this one <ok>

The FA cannot dock points from a Premier League team. Only the Premier League can do that.
