Smithies all day long, Grant Hall has been great in his new role but that's only recent, not that he was bad before that but wasn't quite reaching the level he was at last season. I'm going to give an honourable mention to Ned, never misses a game, never a seconds trouble, playing well under Ollie and if his goal celebration last week is anything to go by still really gives a ****.

At one level, it's a slam dunk for Smithies but it's actually nice to have a choice for a change. Hall, Lynch, Washington and Wszolek all reasonable candidates. Matt Smith if he'd joined us last summer - probably.

I would wager if I were a betting man that Polter would have gotten a vote or two if he had been included, certainly gotten one anyway

I was only joking sheff, but if we can get ten of us on here to go then I'll go. I doubt that it will happen though as the ticket cost is high and any hotel within a reasonable distance is £100 upwards.

I'd go. The price does include free shant, I would expect.

I doubt it Strolls. The blurb says ... '' The event will start with a drinks reception at 7.00pm, before a three-course Asian-inspired dinner.''

Which I interpret as a gratis glass of Bucks Fizz and then you're on your own. I would've thought that they would mention the 'free bar' in the details if that were the case. I think you're looking at a further fifty ( probably more for us pro's ) or so quid for beverages.

Wishful thinking mate. I do fancy it, but I don't know how they can justify the price.

Neither can I. It's not as if it's in central London. It's in the middle of nowhere at a third rate golf club. I can't see this being a success and it'll probably be another six years until the next one.

It is only up the road from Heathrow. Think there is a Crown Plaza and Holiday Inn within walking distance/short cab ride away. Any hotel at Heathrow would be fairly close. I am sure you could get one at a reasonable price.

I've dropped off at that place before, it's popular for corporate training junkets hence the eye-watering prices...

I went for Hall. From what I have seen he has been good more consistently than Smithies, and has learnt his midfield role well.

It's player of the year, if he is dreadful in the remaining 7 games he has still done enough to be poty

    POTY EVENT CANCELLED

    PUBLISHED

    17:00 10th April 2017

    by @QPRFC

    Hoos explains decision ...

QPR's 2016/17 Player of the Year event has been cancelled.

Tickets went on sale for the event last week but a lack of sales has resulted in the event being cancelled.

QPR CEO Lee Hoos told www.qpr.co.uk: "We are naturally disappointed that we've had to cancel the event.

"I have spoken to a lot of fans over the last 18 months about their desire for the event to return, but it seems the price point is still an issue and therefore we've been left with little option but to cancel the event."

Supporters who have purchased tickets have been informed and will be entitled to a full refund.

Maybe the cost of running these events is actually more than people think and expect....and in the modern environment....perhaps we (QPR) cannot afford to run these events at a loss...

No excuses Beth, Brentford got it right we got it wrong. It seems those running our club haven't realised we're not in the Premier League anymore...
