And Im sure everyone will do that when the next game starts unless of course you think us talking about Hughes or what went wrong will somehow affect tomorrows game?
You're certainly right about the supporting bit, finglas, and fans will have a vital part to play in urging on the team, just as they did at the end of last season. But I also think it is a supporter's right to question, and boy, do I have a lot of questions. What went on behind those closed doors is fascinating. It will all come out, but I think we'll have to wait a bit...
I am sure a few ITK's might spill the beans. Personally, I don't want to listen to the gory details. If you do, fair enough.
It's just that we've been speculating for so long...It's like watching a soap and missing the last episode!
Well Granero is the 3rd player to come out with that sort of thing, one was in the paper and wasnt identified and it wouldnt be fair to identify the other one as he didnt go public with it although he was playing so it isnt just sour grapes. You can bet your life that the dressing room was fractured beyond repair under Hughes.
Which in a strange way is encouraging, because it explains a lot and is a problem that Harry has decided talent to deal with. If he can get them pulling together, we may see a dramatic improvement
We supporters need to do the same. Hard I know when the results have been so poor. Past tense. Onwards & upwards.
When Hughes first come there were so many on here saying he is the best manager since sliced bread, much better than Colin. Where you all gone? Have you changed your minds or did he just go down hill? I'm glad he's gone, should have been gone much earlier, but to give him something, although he bought in too many players past their best he also brought in Cisse, Diakite, Hoillet, Granero, M'bia and Cesar. He has also contributed I think to a better back room set up. All credit to him for this.
Hi Oslo, I haven't disappeared. I was pleased and impressed that we attracted Hughes to QPR. If you look at the facts, he had done a good job with every club that he managed: Wales, Blackburn, Man City and Fulham. Sure, he was a dour old git, played unadventurous formations away from home and bought the occasional lemon but imo he was an outstanding candidate who once had legitimate ambitions to manage an EPL-winning side. I'm still puzzling as to why it didn't work out. Atm, I put that down largely to personality (or lack thereof): lack of communication, lack of encouragement and lack of adventure.
Good to hear you Respect! He seems like a good bloke to me - strange he don't seem to be able to get the players playing closer to their best.
Although I wasn't deliriously happy with his appointment I thought, given his record of top ten finishes, he was obviously a massive step up on Warnock. I have no idea what went wrong, but it was catastrophic and to be fair to you, Bob, Wubba and others you were calling out the defensiveness early, especially in away games. How do you feel about Redknapp? What if he plays Park?
From day one when I came to this board in sept I wasn't happy with Hughes. He seemed as a no clue twat. just standing at the line and doing nothing and than his late subs. As for Harry let us not jump to conclusions. He is a great manager but we're yet to see how he'll do at QPR. He can play Park but not as a left winger and I really think he's not stupid to do so.
Os, I would say this is debateable? Was it Hughes or Phil Beard who got these players? I seem to remember him being after Kakka whilst at Man City and getting them a lot of good players, so to give MH all the credit is maybe questionable? Also I never wanted nor liked and ex-Manu Utd & Ex Chelsea manager being in charge of us, BUT, I was willing to accept him just as i did Colin (who i never wanted.) NW was found out and rightly replaced, Its just he was replaced with the wrong man. The fact that he was given total free reign over all matters means he has basically hung himself and proved that he cant run a side. The single thing I will credit him with is the vast improvement in Tarbs performances, but even then if he didnt take training, was he really the reason?
I agree, thats easier to put right than have a poor team already playing at their max. We could see an instant improvement, 4 or 6 points in the next 6 days would be massive.
It seems odd that now Hughes is gone Park is no longer injured, Dyer is back on the scene..Were these "political" injuries.
I wrote once that Park injury is suspicious but for Dyer I doubt as he's injury prone. In Park case as he was captain the easiest way to remove him from games is to say he's injured.
