Was going to make my own post, but this summed it up perfectly. People who don't go to the games probably look at things like this and form a negative opinion of Luongo, but they couldn't be further from the truth.
He's nowhere near the finished article yet but if he was he'd be a £15m player in the Premier League. There's a lot to like about him, however. He played 95 games plus internationals in the two seasons before this one so his fitness must be exemplary. He takes responsibility on the pitch, a bit like Faurlin but with a different role. In fact in total since the start of the 2013/14 season he's played 127 games, which is quite something. The much maligned but dearly loved Samba Diakite has a career total of 95 matches.
Did chuckle to myself when he lost the ball a few times early on. He had a great chance at 1-0 which he rushed for no reason and was generally **** as they all were.
