See your Montpellier boy Giroud was top scorer in the League and Blanc is planning to start him in the Euros. Tasty. Out of our reach?

IMO the Yak is another of those "good for a year and then frustrate everyone" players. Similar to Marcus Bent for every other club apart from us (the best thing he did for us was get himself dropped by pointing out that NW had too many loanees in the team).

He's a good finisher but very lazy and that doesn't sound like the typical player Mark Hughes goes for.

On his day, Yakubu is great. It's just a shame we can't sign him just for that one day....

The Yak would be affordable and had a very good 2011/12. He's a much better option up front than Betty or, probably, DJ. He would also complement Cisse better than either. As such, he might be a good squad player behind Zamora and Cisse, coming on as sub for the former when he gets tired, as he tended to do.

Rumour has it he is available for a knockdown fee due to a clause in his contract if Blackburn were to get relegated. If its as little as £1mill i'd certainly snap him up. Proven goal scorer who could be a good aquisition to bring on the for the last 30 mins if chasing the game. Gotta be better than JB, DJ, Helgy and Hulse...
