Not a number 10, but a number 11 and for sheer skill and athleticism this is one of the best goals you will ever see. And it was against Barnsley <laugh>

I was there odddy. It was one of those moments when you look at the guy next to you and wonder "did we just see that". Remarkably he tried it again, against Barnsley again, the following season but this time hit the crossbar!

is it true they are a tribute team to Queens Park (only Scottish team to play in an F A Cup final) and Glasgow Rangers (World record holders)?

Strange that. Last night I saw highlights of the Saturday Barnsley game. One ex Wycombe player almost scored and another assisted the winning goal. Pity we can't keep hold of our best players but it's good to see them progress at a higher level. No doubt Pierre will be the next to go <wah>

    Absolutely no

QPR are treated as a bit of a joke team but the mid-70s side was as good a footballing side as you could hope to see, especially in terms of entertainment. They should have won the Championship in 75/76 as they were easily the best team that year. It was a travesty that Liverpool won the league.
But in many respects the 84-95 team were even better. Look at the results and they come out as just below Arsenal in terms of the best London side. When Guardiola was talking about the best footballing side he was talking about that team that included Ferdinand and Sinclair. They played a wonderful form of organic football. Losing Ferdinand was a huge hit but in the end the reason they lost him is the reason they are such an attractive proposition to support.

Nothing to bloody well shout about but I guess I've been a fan of the R's for longer than anyone on this particular part of the forum, which doesn't mean much of course. You are right, Bustino, for decades after WW2 the club had real charisma. Over the past few years, indeed from the start of the millennium**, it seems to have completely lost this, albeit modest, aura? I can only guess on one or two reasons why. Poor, poor, decisions from an inexperienced owner, a few lousy purchases (especially from Mark Hughes) for some professionals who were nowhere near as good as they thought they were, an obviously mediocre team spirit (just compare that with the camaraderie of the 1967 Fooball League Cup winning squad), etc., etc.
Just a personal opinion, mind you!

**Note: I extend the time factor because I, for one, was never happy when the club was run by a quite obvious Mafia-type organization? At least Tony Fernandes changed all that.

Crikey, didn't realise our head to heads were this good. Note, in the 4-1 and 4-3 games both teams ended up with 9 men.<yikes>

Swanny at least youve had good times not all fans have! Im always surprised when teams get promoted the way they buy other EPL teams dross!
QPR have had some pretty poor players on some crazy contracts recently and Sunderland are also "reaping" the rewards of signing failed players!
Bit like when managers have gone down from Scotland and brought SPL players with them been a while since that has proven a success!

Yes, Gazboy, we have had our fair share of good times over the years, unfortunately I missed most of the Stan Bowles years due work commitments abroad. It's just the last few years have been pretty damn sad for most R's fans. Even when we were so lucky to beat Derby in that playoff and return to the Premier, I was quite honestly not convinced they had a squad nearly strong enough to remain with the big guns. Sure enough, back down they came. I live in hope for a grandstand finish to the season. One must always hope! Pleased to see they have considerably lightened their payroll over the past few weeks! :emoticon-0100-smile

It's early days yet, but what chance Wycombe of going up Ron? You'd think they have those below them covered at the moment, and maybe Rovers and Mansfield, seeing that they have a couple of games in hand, but what of Accrington and Portsmouth? Of course there is a long way to go in the season, but how comfortable are you with the way things are going at the moment? With a bit of luck, you'll have a couple of more wins coming up, so hopefully the boys can build from there.

Play offs at best Cyc. We got to the play off final last year and were 1-0 up in extra time with 20 seconds left. The rest is history
