TONY FERNANDES TARGETS BBC SITE QPR are lining up a £300million move that could spark a football revolution in London. New owner Tony Fernandes is understood to want to build a new 50,000-capacity stadium on the massive White City site which the BBC, hamstrung by budget cuts, is set to quit and sell. And the prospect of sharing it with another London club to help fund the project is also being seriously considered. Fernandes has made a move from QPR’s present Loftus Road stadium just a quarter of a mile away top priority as part of a five-year plan to transform the Premier League new boys into big players. “We will have to move and we are looking around,” Fernandes revealed. “You need lofty ambitions and as we move up the Premier League it will be very important to build a fan base.” But QPR could face competition from Spurs if their bid to move into the Olympic Stadium instead of West Ham fails. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/276370/Tony-Fernandes-targets-BBC-site
