WTF. Does anyone know any vegetarian, spritzer-swilling, "I hear its fasionable to be seen at soccer games" luvvies that are QPR fans?
The ideal places for Fulham or Chelsea to move to a new stadium would have been down by Sands End, and the old railway lands by the West London line over the Thames a few years ago. That's pretty much all developed now. There are more options in the north of the borough, but I cant see either Fulham or chelsea fans wanting to move to a stadium in White City or Queens Park way - even before mentioning a ground share. Its obvious all three need new stadiums, although I'd say QPR have the more pressing need.
Agree with this, and yes I was on the pitch protesting over the Fulham Park Rangers idea, who else was?
That's rubbish Sooper. KJ was very well educated as befitted his high class. I'm sure he would have been able to spell Troglodyte. Pass the eau de vie please Bidley.
when Fulham shared our ground my Foolham loving uncle said it would be the only time premership football would be seen at loftus road, well this Saturday im hoping we are going to shaft them and put to bed finally this notion, we are rivals and i cant really see this working they wont want to leave SW6 and we dont want them in W12.
Good use of Google. I suppose I could be accused of wumming your board if people didn't keep, you know, posting cross-board threads. Anyway, I've got football to discuss, behave yourself, my troglodyte (see!) friend.
As i've said in a previous post I think we should do it. Half the cost, half the risk and it makes perfect sense to ground share with a team like Fulham who are down the road and have a similar fan base.
Rubbish article. I live in a small house. My neighbour 3 yards away also lives in a small house. Does that mean we should move in to a bigger house together further down the road? No thanks.
I think that the numbers still add up for for us to stay at The Cottage, so no need to give up my warm wooden seats and the walk by the river to/from every game.
QPR boss: Groundshare with Fulham would be ‘common sense’ Ian Cooper, QPR correspondent Friday, September 30, 2011 1:10 PM Warnock believes it is just a matter of time until QPR are forced to leave Loftus Road, and welcomes suggestion of sharing with neighbours Hoops boss Neil Warnock believes that a groundshare between neighbours QPR and Fulham would make perfect sense for both clubs. QPR owner Tony Fernandes has insisted that Loftus Road, with a capacity of only 18,300, could not sustain the future development of the club and is keen to move to another location nearby. Fernandes has already identified several patches of land in the White City area, including the recently vacated BBC site, and hinted he is open to the idea of QPR and Fulham sharing a stadium. The two west London neighbours, who meet in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, are separated by only two and a half miles, and shared Loftus Road between 2002 and 2004 while Craven Cottage underwent redevelopment. Warnock appeared to welcome a similar scenario in the future, but recognised that such a move would be likely to be met with opposition from fans. “It just makes so much common sense doesn’t it,” said Warnock at his press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash. “But English football fans, we like our own clubs, irrespective of finance. “We expect other people to pay for everything, look after the clubs’ get the players in, we don’t want to share with anybody. “It’s just too common sense to go down well in England, but it does make such a lot of sense. It would be such a shame to see grounds like the Cottage and Loftus Road go under the bulldozers. “Whether they have their own individual stadiums at a future time, it’s only a matter of time before both stadiums are bulldozed unfortunately, because no clubs that are playing at that level can sustain that. I think it’s something that will be talked about.” Follow Ian Cooper on Twitter @QPRTimes
Not sure if it was you or another poster who has raised this before Olso, BUT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Let it lie, lad.
For impossible, I think you can read 'prohibitively expensive'. If you have to re-dig foundations of any stand you want to build on top of, I think we might as well look at a new ground. That said, I'll miss LR if and when we move, and I'm not too keen on sharing.
Well I've been a vegetarian for the last 27 years.....does that count But i prefer lager to spritzers.....
I am up for it as I understand that Fulham would become our nursery club ... We would have a great reserve / thirds side
