My last visit to Loftus Road Was way back in February 1970 in the F.A. Cup Quarter finals billed as Osgood v Marsh. Loftus Road was a muddy ****hole back then but a quite entertaining game Chelsea were quickly 2-0 up before a twice taken Venables penalty which quite frankly flattered them. Ossie (r.i.p.) then completed his hat-trick before Bridges (another old Chelsea boy) got a consolation goal.

Great day out! Chelsea players scored all six goals and through to the semi's against Watford at London's 2nd biggest ****hole Spurs <ok>

P.S. As it was billed as Osgood v Marsh, no one saw Marsh until 30 years later I was extremely surprised to see him in "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here!" due to being so deep in Ron Chopper Harris's pocket.

I've never come across one that does and most of the Chelsea fans that got me into Chelsea are well over 30 now.

West Ham, Arsenal and Spurs moreso have always been viewed as the enemy, with QPR and Fulham being London neighbours.

Shepherd's bush market used to close before the match's ended due to getting wrecked after every game. I remember one year we took them by surprise and did the swimming pool instead.

For FA Cups games, that may be the case with lots of Dads deciding to take their children. I don't need to read anything about our history, we haven't played QPR anywhere near as many times as we've played West Ham, Arsenal, Spurs or even Fulham.

As I said Fulham isn't that bad. West Ham are hated and always have been, intensified in the 80s and 90s when the clubs played each other a lot and there was lots of movement from the players between the two clubs.

I don't mind who the manager picks as long as we win, QPR is just any other game. We need 3 points whoever we play and AVB will of course be under pressure to get results. We have plenty of options up front so should cope with injuries.

AVB won't be judged on the games against QPR, Norwich, Swansea, Stoke etc it will be the games against rival clubs like Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal and then of course the title rivals like United and Man City.

I'm sure he'll be given time to assemble a good squad for the foreseeable future.

Great to see you Ginge <ok>

I actually saw Rodney Marsh in David Lloyd in South West London (where I live). At the time I didn't recognise him because he had grown his hair so much. Seems like a genuinely decent guy, a bit loud though <laugh>

You too mate, I used to have a few pints with Rodney now and again as he and his entourage used to drink in my local at the Grange in Ealing Common. He was a nice bloke back then. <ok>

I always asked him about that match and he said he was carrying a knock? I said that was Ron Harris not a knock. <laugh>

Hadn't realised you were an Ealing Boy. My Dad's side of the family live there and grew up there etc. Still seems a fairly decent guy now to be fair, bet he he could put a pinto down him ;)

Well said Rodders. I never quite understood this "hatred" of another Club thing. Possibly because I'm supporting from afar.

We're unlikely to get anything off Chelsea home or away, but I'm really looking forward to the game at Loftus Road. The atmosphere should be something special!!
