Not really, hes too slow to be a FB and not strong enough to be a CB. He came with a lot of promise but never fulfilled it. We kept on waiting for him to gain some strength but hes still a match stick who will get regularly out muscled by forwards. i never had a problem with his personality but I just dont rate him.
Always wanted Matt to do well and rated him when he first came. The youth pedigree was there, but somehow the self confidence wasn't. Was struck down with glandular fever I seem to remember, and never seemed to be the same again (similar to Marc Bircam I seem to remember too). Good luck Matt with the career and thanks for your partnership with Gorkks in the promotion season. Think the time is right to let him move on. Strange seeing as he has been given a number though. For me it means we need 2 defenders. 1 CB and another utility player.
I think we should of kept hold of Connolly He looked good in pre-season and has youth on his side Maybe he needs to go as he is under 30
