Just reading a bit on Sky from Coyle, and said it took two hours to get his heart started. So you got to wonder what has actually happened to the lad.
Hate to be full of doom and gloom and I really really hope I'm wrong but I can't help but wonder even if he survives he may have suffered brain damage due to the length of time it took to recusitate him. The brain not getting oxygen is not a good thing. But like I said I'm hoping I'm wrong and he makes a full recovery.
Dilli, that's what my wife has said. Being without oxygen for so long will have huge implications for the potential brain damage. Hence why the induced coma, they can wean him off this and they will soon see if the lack of oxygen has done damage to him.
Hope thats not true guys! though he seemed to be out for a long time and they said he wasnt breathing when they were carrying him down the tunnel! not sure how true that is though, only thing we can do is wish him all the best, not sure if he would ever play again even if he suffered no brain damage, hope his club and football look after him well
Some times the heart goes into such a shutdown state they can't register anything, some people have been pronounced dead, only to wake up some time later, or revived after being pronounced dead, the brain will interact as much possible to stimulate the body to restart the system. There was a case of a woman in the states, by the name of Val Thomas, where she had been pronounced dead and had no brain activity for over 17 hours, even Rigor Mortis Set In, and doctors still can't explain how she is alive today, but alive she is! Never, I'm no medical expert not by a long shot and I hope to God I'm wrong but all things considered he could well come out of this and be brain dead. I can't even comprehend what his family's going through now and I hope they haven't got to make any decisions about turning any machines off. Fingers crossed for a full recovery.
Dilli, he could very well be, just hope were all wrong and he makes a recovery. I know what it's like to turn a machine off, had to do this to my father.
We can only hope for the best for him,We are all feeling pretty useless here.So hoping is all we have got
2 hours before they got him going again is not the kind of news I was hoping for . I live in hope but got a bad feeling
I have a good feeling about this boy, that he will pull through fine! let's stay positive................
Latest news is fantastic, Fabrice is communicating in English and French, he is also recognising the people visiting him!
Brilliant news!! Rock on, Fabrice, we're all rooting for you. If power of thought is any yardstick you are home and dry, mate.
