Drama as stick nearly runs out on the final bend but pulls back in (Orfevre style), however sacrificing the lead back to attivo in the process and finds himself 7½l off the lead. Fabio is hanging in there 5½l in 3rd. Reebs has made rapid late progress, sweeping through the pack to move into 4th just 3½l behind Fabio and 1l ahead of Circle relegated to 5th
I'm at Amanda's using my grandson's laptop so can't do updates at present but a 4/1 winner is very handy. Bloody French keyboards. Who designed them? I mean who in their right mind would require the shift button for a full stop and put it as far away as possible from a comma? And as for finding @, needless to say you have to look very hard and ill find it's 0+CTRL+Alt
When I first looked at the race last night it was Atty Persse that caught my eye first, but the more I looked today it was hard to get away from the favourite. Recent form vs the wind op working its magic, went for form.
You really cannot quite understand a result like that. OK Crowned Eagle was favourite based on Swedish Group 3 form which maybe needs taking with a pinch of salt. The second however is a two time oaks runner up. The winner has run at least a stone better than any previous form! Mad. And in a cracking time!
Agreed. Not as though he got a good start either: "Detached in last early, still last 4f out, sweeping run on wide outside just over 3f out and rapid progress to lead over 2f out, caught rest napping and sent for home, kept on stoutly from over 1f out ". 50% win rate on the AW
