Oddy, we're experiencing a heatwave here at the moment! Well high teens is a heatwave here anyway.

There is some rain forecast towards the weekend but I think it is followed by some High pressure again so it should be good come the start of next week. Punchestown will have the track in good nick anyway Oddy. It should be perfect good to soft jumping ground.

Hopefully you do get to see him florida. You won't believe how small and scruffy he appears to his rivals. Must have a heart as big as they come.

You should be able get some nice pictures around the parade ring of all the runners if you wanted.

FLY is small but extremely aggressive, this comes across when u watch them saddle him up :) I think the pre parade is pretty good for getting a good close up/photo opportunity.

Punchestown really is superb, I generally get a day down at it each year all things being equal. Its less crowded than Cheltenham but the Friday is the busiest day (ladies day) and seems the one day where there are the odd pisshead about!

Will be shorties every day so from a betting point of view opportunities may be limited unless you like handicaps. I really hope the English trainers will send a few over but after the performances of Willies big guns they can be forgiven avoiding certain races I guess! Jessica Harrington does very, very well there too so along with the obvious, following hers should pay dividends.

One trainer I hope will send something over is the red hot Dan Skelton. In case yous hadn't noticed backing his blind this last week wouldn't have been the worst strategy ever seen lol :)

Yes, Jessie Harrington typically does saddle a few winners most years. I'd be keeping a particular eye on her bumper entries.

The single lads usually like to take a close gander at Jessica's daughter in the parade ring too I believe <whistle>

True on the whole, but when I was there it was really good weather and there were loads of absolutely stunning women there.

I think Wounded Warrior might be the ew value in the 3 mile novice chase @12/1 obviously Don Poli is odds on. Valser lido and Apache Stronghold ran very poorly last time at fairyhouse after cheltenham.

I backed Wounded Warrior for the 4 miler at Cheltenham when it was NRNB, so I was quite annoyed to see how strongly he was staying on in the RSA, as he'd of surely had a great chance in the lower grade contest over another mile.

I struggle to see him beating Don Poli, but he is certainly one for the forecast. My only fear would be his lack of gears, as I don't think the Punchestown contest will be as stamina sapping as the RSA. He's such a strong stayer that I think he'll be a Grand National contender in the coming seasons

Anyone any thoughts on champion chase race? My initial thinking was Twinlight at the prices. I am losing a bit of faith in Champagne Fever at his skinny odds tomorrow. He may win but the price is prohibitive in an open contest.

At the prices I thought Felix Yonger had a shout but probably wouldn't bother with a bet in the race.
