Morning all. Heading to Punchestown soon and it's a glorious day here for racing thankfully. Ma Chara 25/1 is expected to go well again in the opener and will hopefully give us a good run at an each way price. Also think Liz Doyle's Glenbeg 9/1 can put another good effort in and maybe win with Kevin Sexton taking 5 off will help after a solid effort at Aintree last time out.

Faugheen will take all the beating i think Western Boy may give him most to think about now back going right handed. Baily Green also catches the eye will relish conditions today and was travelling well before falling at Cheltenham, I think he will go well. Morning Assembly I also like there today even with Djakadam getting the weight and Ruby on board.

Best of luck with the punting folks.

Thanks Bob we usually head up most years but with the weather today it should be good although a winner or two can brighten it up even more! Any strong opinions on the flat races there?

but it will be fairer for all, and we might get to see horses coming across from the US and Dubai <laugh>

Could you imagine, we would have to call it the Epsom Kentucky Derbbbbbby!! When is the Kentucky variation?

Punchestown, a great festival. Any lucky ones going there - have a great time and back all the winners. To my great regret, never ever made it there.

Oh dear, Nass, this is getting serious, but can you imagine those Yankee hosses tackling the gradients, twists and turns of Epsom, presuming they can't flatten it all out for the synthetic track? Epsom, sorry, The Derbbbbbby - ughhhh! <laugh>

Honestly not looked at the bumpers. The Hendo horse must be useful to have persuaded Patrick to jump off his dad's horse. Will most likely be over bet though.

Piss easy to take the horrid kinks out of Epsom. Couple of graders and a theodolite, and the place could be as flat as Alicia Silverstone's chest. <laugh>

Wanna bet, Cyc. I come from around there and even being a POW camp during WW2 couldn't change the terrain.
A couple of graders and a theodolite, no way man, these ain't no 'kinks'! <laugh>

Also, The Derby at Epsom, is very much part of our heritage, and the track is a true test of a racehorse (and a jockey, the great Freddie Head failed miserably there), i.e. being able to adapt to the gradients, and to have stamina and the necessary speed at the finish, and more, in the bargain. I mean, would you like Flemington to become a sandpit track, and go right-handed for good measure. My God, you would post an essay 10 ft. long in protest! <laugh>

    All just kidding btw!

On re-reading it Swanny, I no longer care about Epsom, I can't seem to bet Alicia Silverstone's tits out of my head. <whistle>

Had a sizable bet on Faugheen

Also done a daft bet - nearly came off Yesterday as a 1/3 shot let me down for a 5 timer and 4 figures, today's is:

    Faugheen - 4/6 4.20
    Djakadam - 5/2 6.05
    Zuhoor Baynoona - 10/11 2.05
    Black Minstrel - 9/4 4.30
Bayern/Real Madrid both teams to score - 8/15
Wigan to beat Birmingham - evens

This is like listening to old people in the pub/bookies going on about the lass from the Coral TV adverts. You will give yourselves a heart attack.

Why not just move Epsom completely, we could have the Epsom Derby @ the racecourse Newbury, or Epsom Derby on Blackpool Beach.

<laugh> All a piss take Swanny. I'm with you mate, Epsom is the home of not just the Derby, it's the soul of UK racing. Well at least from where I come from. :)
