The Blyth Spartans shirt is quite nice, although a bit tight round the neck if you have a neck that is any wider than your windpipe. It's made my Errea who used to do the Boro kits a few years ago.

Using one of his own brands means sports direct makes a shirt for a quid and sells if for £35 versus Nike/Adidas making them for a quid and then selling them to sports direct/Newcastle for a fiver. Also is olympic advertising not similar to world cup advertising in that its limited to approved or selected organisations?

I believe that Sports Direct have coincided with one of the charities which is quite major for the Olympics...I can't remember which charity it is though.

I'd quite like Puma to stay. I've quite liked the last couple and really like this years, although i wasnt kean on the home stirp at first. The fit is a bit dodgy compared to last seasons as well, but at least they look different.

Hate the way all Adidas ones look the same these days and Nike just dont try for any of them, unless youre arsenal.

The only thing Puma need to change is the iron on badges.

Ooh, colouring in!

In other promotion news, has anyone seen the thing they're running where each home game a member is 'Member of the Day'? I missed Fulham due to a day swimming in the Tees (don't ask), but the guy who sits two down from me won it that week. Seat in the posh bits, meal, but no drinks. Apparently the food was rubbish and its £9 a pint, I'll be turning it down...

This would be great for the future Nike to supply our shirts and Windows to be the shirt sponsor and then the toon to be owned by Bill Gates lol

Unfortuantely I work at Sports Direct (shoot me now), but I got a corporate ticket off the company for the Blackburn game. I was already going so sold my ticket and thought I might as well give it a go. Once I got there it was a lovely meal, it was self served so you could have as much as you want.

The added bonus for me was that the drink was also free...I can't remember anything from 7pm on Saturday night.

All in all I actually had a good time...and I'll probably get sacked once they see how much we drank!

For people saying Umbro, do you really want to risk us and the mackems having the same design, just different colours?

On the subject of Puma and this new 'Newcastle United' + Sports Direct sign on the top of the stadium... wasn't there supposed to be a Puma logo at each side of the SD ones? What has happened to this does anybody know, or was it just a load of **** to sooth the fact that he's put that ****e over another part of the stadium?

I don't think that was ever actually stated, and in fairness its not going to look better with more rubbish up there.

What struck me for the first time at the weekend wasn't the number of SD logos around the place, but the lack of anything else. Are we losing sponsors or does Ashley just prefer to stick another SD board up instead of taking money in. There's the odd Barclays one, but the likes of Collingwood Insurance (obviously I'd notice that one...) etc have completely vanished.

I'm pretty certain Ashley is using the pikeyDirect ****e all over the ground, to demonstrate what you could have if you coughed up to be the next @St.James' Park. Advertising for advertising, basically.

Dunlop don't make football kits do they? Think we're safe from them. I know Lonsdale did Blackburns a few season's ago - and now they're advertising chicken. And we think we've got it bad <laugh>

I'll probably get lynched for this but I don't think their shirt looks too bad (Or the front at least, I seem to remember it having a weird back) - At least it's got proper stripes, unlike our current kit.
