No guys, he plays for United. He's going to be world class just like Jones, Smalling and Cleverly will be
No I didn't, I just ignored Mata Of course, I could have said Markpvic, Can and Origi had been forgotten too
They may never make the world class status, but they all have Premier League winners medals and are likely to get more if we keep them on
Exactly, you paid £25mil for a 26 year old who has had one good season and is unlikely to improve much at that age
Cleverley will never get another Premier League medal. 100% fact. The other two have a mathematical chance.
TBF I don't care if he doesn't improve on team of the year status and the league's 3rd best midfielder #steadywilldo
I think that Liverpool are essentially a rich mans newcastle. You guys buy cheap players and look for deals (with the exception of lallana). Look at Moreno. Sevilla wanted way too much money and you're management stood firm. Now you've got future superstars in markovic and Can. Remy will do amazing in your team. Not sure about lambert, i think he will be more of a backup player/cup games type stuff. Spurs on the other hand overpaid for every one of those players except Eriksen. Never ever pay 30 million for a foreign player unless they are absolutely world class and there is no doubt they'll make the transition. I worry about Man United this season as i feel like they're going to blow big money and it's going to backfire big time.
Strange you'd worry about them, you could be fighting them for a Europa place, I hope it does backfire big time.
With every transfer target rejecting them it's getting hard to see who they'll actually be able to waste their money on next. Buy another £30m kid, £40m benchwarmer, or go the Fellaini route of just paying millions more than a player's release clause? #worried #edwoodwardisafuckingjoke
bollocks. what have newcastle EVER won. LFC are clearly chasing trophies whether successful or no and have at least won a pot. the question is since kenny dalglish (who had success in scotland when scotland mattered) what finished article have we ever signed..... hanson, souness, barnes, even torres... we don't buy "finished articles" and never have done. alonso, mascherano (saved his career).. kuyt.... reina... agger, skertl (unknown)... sturridge... suarez (bought on a big issue) the reality is we don't buy cheap players either we pay a lot. and have done so consistently but try to stretch it and get value. we get it wrong like allen, borini etc but we are trying to avoid another carroll debacle. the reality is our manager was hired to support an established fsg strategy of young player and scouted both can and markovic over a long period (according to him) spurs got a lot of cash in and went nuts spurs do not have thebudget to spunk 30mil on one guy nor pay the wages except out of tv money which we all get.
Recently... I think our owners got burnt during the Dalglish months... paying way over the top for average players... and now they're more cautious about where to spend that money. The funny thing is though... after the Suarez sale we've made a net profit on the Dalgish signings. Hendo would make us a profit now too were we silly enough to sell him. I'm not expecting anything from Lambert- we paid the price of a good bench warmer... and that's what I expect him to be. A good bench warmer. Sturridge rarely lasts 90 mins... I expect Lamb to get time as a sub... and from cup games... little else. Shame about that bloody shirt deal they got! lol! They could have blown all that money this summer on average- and then be financially bereft by next summer and have to sell their best to stay afloat... destined to always be midtable. That shirt deal they got is blummin' amazing though. They can screw up big time- and the extra £75mill a season will cover their bacon a great deal. No hope of them dropping into permanent midfield now- unless they buy stupid players for 10 years straight.
