When people are quoted verbatim and don't subsequently deny it - yes. If a kopite said the Earth was flat you ****ers would argue he was right.......
by a swansea fan who thinks its bollocks as well, but of course you will now say he has it wrong and you are right as its negative on our club. More poor journalism by The Daily Mail not for the first time this season, focusing on what the Chairman may have said rather than the possible transfer tapping of Bony! The Daily Mail reported "The 25 year old is eager to leave Swansea" at the same time Sky Sports stated "The Player is looking forward to returning back to training next week". #TheSillySeasonIsHere Jenkins has done an incredible job in the last 10 years, the club has improved year by year and has the best intentions for the club, "every club should have a Huw Jenkins, A true Football fan & not just a business man". Evening Post reported today "Swansea City Chairman Huw Jenkins believes that Liverpool are not trying to sign Striker Bony behind the Welsh teams back", "I had no talks with liverpool till now, i would be surprised if a club like liverpool would do any negotiations with a player or a players agent behind our back". Jenkins has every right to comment "Its his Job & Bony is our player"!!
So old Huw is quoted wrongly and never said you tapped up Bony, so now the Mail have wrongly quoted him and pissed off Liverpool to boot, but neither say anything about it.... Ok mate, whatever you say.
There are shades of Spurs, no doubt. We're going about things differently though. Spurs seemed to feel the pressure of signing ambitious targets last summer - Paulinho, Lamela, Soldado were big players when they joined. The smart signings they made were Chiriches and Eriksen. Great value and potential in both. They also failed to strengthen at fullback (Walker and Rose are poor) at the expense of chasing every midfielder possible. In fairness no-one could have predicted how bad Soldado would be. When you look at our signings, they seem to follow the course you'd have expected if Suarez had stayed. Markovic and Can are young players who've succeeded at their previous clubs and in positions we all knew we'd strengthen (need a DM, LB and LW for bench). Lallana seems low risk but you never know. He's the signing that's surprised me so far. I think he'll succeed but I'm surprised we've spent big on him when we have Coutinho, Sterling and indeed Markovic, as well as Suso for CAM or LW/RW. Regardless, he certainly strengthens our team/bench. Count in Ibe who seems a decent finish away from being a useful player. It'll be interesting to see if we sign Moreno and Lovren - they're definitely needed and would seemingly suit our system but will cause a real lack of stability - especially if Agger is allowed to leave. I'd happily have Wisdom on the bench but it seems he's set for West Brom - a good move. Ilori might be readier to step in for cup games or go on loan again himself. ...On top of all this (and I haven't considered Remy or Lambert) it seems from the Sanchez fallout that we're keen on replacing Suarez (if not in position) in terms of 'big name' status. If we do - great; football is about enjoyment and Luis made us remember what it's like to watch true quality (which we haven't had since 2008 really). If we don't... well we have Sterling, Sturridge and Coutinho a year further in development and confidence - and they'll surely be hungry! It's a nice situation. A good indicator is to look at how our team and bench is shaping up: ------------------------Mignolet ---Johnson-----[LOVREN]-----------Sakho------[MORENO] -----------------------Gerrard --------------Henderson-----Coutinho/Lallana --------Sterling-------Sturridge--------[SIGNING/Markovic/Remy] With a bench from: Jones/Reina Agger/Skrtel/Sakho/Ilori Flanagan/Enrique/Kelly/Can Can/Lucas/Allen Markovic/Lallana/Cou Ibe/Suso Lambert/Remy It's true that that's a shedload of signings... but we seem to be a lot stronger now and with infinitely more ability to change our shape from the bench? Of course at the expense of our truly special talent in Suarez. That team looks talented but lightweight - I personally expect Can to have a good season however, maybe even at LB.
Didn't say anything about the paper quoting him wrong. Said that you're believing something that the Swansea chairman is saying. Neither you or I know this is fact as you claimed to start with. Only people who know if this has happened are Bony and the Liverpool representative who allegedly met him. Even old Huw doesn't know it for fact so not sure how you claim to.
In the first interview he seems clueless about any tapping up. He's basically saying he hopes LFC haven't been talking to Bony behind Swansea's back. The second one is totally different and as you say he actually comes out with it in that interview.
If it's not fact then there'd have been a rebuttal and as I said earlier what's in it for him to be quoted verbatim accusing you of taping up and leaving himself open to slander and FA charges? Just accept it ffs, it's not the end of the ****ing world
It's not fact, because he hasn't said it has actually happened. So unless you were there and can categorically say it happened.. I don't need to accept anything.
Evil Liverpool, tapping up all those players they don't actually want to sign So far we've not-signed at least 100 players this window, something needs to be done before Liverpool not-signs almost every player in the world
We now have an expert witness in tobes who will testify in court that Jenkins has said kid tapped his player up Let's get the swans chairman in court for slander lads
Won't work, LFC would have to demonstrate Jenkins' comments were damaging when in reality zero ****s were given about what he had to say
What tobes speaking in court in this absolute certainty tone of his is not evidence enough.... Surely not
Tobes was #bitter long before all this so Jenkins' comments haven't had any damaging effects in that regard
