He's quoted verbatim ffs, so what's that got to do with journalism?

You've tapped his player up and he's called you out on it, nothing more to it than that.

Was he quoted verbatim saying "Liverpool were interested and only backed out because of the price and Brendan told me this personally"?

    Keep on failin' <ok>

    It's not a story, it's an interview........

I'm sure there'd have been a strong response from your lot if he was making up the fact that you'd tapped up his star larker <doh>

    What?

He's quoted as saying he's disappointed that you've spoken to his player behind his back, you therefore wanted him you balloon, but have baulked at paying his release clause.

About sports journalism being the worst it's ever been? Even for a bitter you're not stupid enough to disagree, I hope.

As for Jenkins, the points still stands that he appears to have read reports about "Liverpool being interested in Bony" and all of a sudden he's assuming we've talked to him. He says he's unaware of any contact between him and Liverpool, but suddenly he's read that we've spoken to Bony and all of a sudden it's gospel.

Didn't say it was a story. Said do you believe everything you read in the papers? Just because a quote from him saying we've tapped him up, doesn't mean there is any truth in it at all. therefor, you can't prove it is fact.

And why? Unless he reports it to the FA there is no need for Liverpool to respond to it.. he can go out spouting thigns all he likes without proof, just makes him look more silly. Rather my club just stayed quiet and did their business in private.

Despite what Tobes says, this is not an "interview" <laugh>

This is someone who is on the phone with Jenkins for about 90 seconds or jumps in front of his car and asks him what he thinks about rumours of Liverpool interest

So Jenkins has made up the fact that you tapped up Bony? <laugh>

And you've chosen to ignore this, sure.....

What possible motive would he have for saying that then? I'm intrigued as to what he gets from lying about it.....

    f**ing lmao

"I have had no talks with Liverpool until now, and I would be very surprised if a club like Liverpool are doing any kind of negotiations with a player or player's agent behind our back," Jenkins told the Evening Post.

"I would have thought somebody from Liverpool would have been in touch if they are really interested in Wilfried.

"There's a way of doing things. I know things are different in this day and age, but the usual rule of thumb is that when you are trying to complete a transfer, you deal with a club first and then the player comes after that.

"That's the nature of the system."

If you just look at the quotes, and not the writers opinion that is on either side of the quotes to manipulate your thoughts, he doesn't anywhere accuse Liverpool of tapping anyone up.

You don't know that for a start off, but even if that was true, it doesn't matter a jot whether he was interviewed in his office, in the car, on the phone or while taking a ****e. He's quoted verbatim you penis.

Yes... he's only said he has heard it's happened, therefor not even he knows it's fact! My original point was, you cant prove that it is a fact which is what you said... and the fact that he doesn't even know for sure proves that point <doh>

Maybe to try and drum up other interest to bump up his value? If he ays we're talking to a player then others may think they need to come in etc as well.

Like my original point said, none of us know the real facts unlike you claimed in your OP.

Lfc should sue Jenkins for slander

Never mind about saying we are illegally talking to players... The big lie is we'd even bother with the donkey

    Reality check.... He's a donkey

<laugh> Are you taking the piss?

He said he was disappointed that Liverpool had chosen to speak to his player behind his clubs back, it's as plain as day he's not saying that might have happened he said it did!

He can't bump ups the players value as he's got a release clause <doh>

He was being more subtle in the first interview but the inference is clear.

In the second interview he just says it how it is i.e You tapped him up.
