I trust that BR is signing players that fit within his footballing philosophy rather than signing a bunch of random players. Thats why i never really believed we would sign Bony.
How does big Lambo fit into this supposed philosophy and Bony not? It was only the fee that put you off Bony
I think those Spurs players will come good this season. They've had a year to settle and now have a decent manager too
Lambert can change the shape of our attack but Bony can't. Therefore in terms of our attacking options Lambert was/is th better buy for us. Plus Bony does flatter to deceive when it comes to finishing. You expect Lambert to miss and he scores - tends to be the other way about with Bony
Sorry I don't think they will. There was no sign last season of them finding a fit between the players and I doubt that they will find it this season.
Could well be the case gerrez. Im not sure that their manager is better than avb though. For the stick he gets hes very good and has proved this outside of england. Hes been at two joke clubs run by the owners and clubs that are not interested in the managers view.
Garbage that. Bony is just as good an all round forward as Lambert, plus he's got a far better scoring record
Agreed. Its a really lazy comparison. Just because they are both big doesn't make them identical players. Lambert is much better at passing and bringing others into play than Bony is. Bony is the better goalscorer but I doubt he'd get that many goals in our team with the way we play.
Agree with this. At Chelsea he was expected to shift the likes of Terry, Drogba & Lampard out of the first team despite having no one competent enough to replace them and change the whole team into a dynamic, attacking unit at the same time. And then at Spurs he finished 1 point off 4th place with 72 points which probably would be enough to get 4th in most other seasons (and was Spurs highest ever points tally). Second season wasn't as good but he didn't even get a chance to fit all the new players in and test different formations and combinations before being sacked.
He got sacked half way through the season and Sherwood finished the season with one of the best points-to-games ratios of a modern Spurs manager.
Still think its defenders you need. You will score 70+ goals imo but concede like you did last season and that will cost you big. Reckon gerrard needs replacing too with a dm who will protect the defence and launch attacks from deep.
Gerrard definitely needs replacing IMO. He's alright for some games but not all of them. Can could be that guy though.
