    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...target-for-Stoke-City-manager-Tony-Pulis.html

Pulis is weighing up a club record offer for Bendtner after the Denmark international's representatives made contact over the weekend, a potential deal that would eclipse the fee paid out to Sunderland for Kenwyne Jones last summer.
Bendtner will be allowed to leave Arsenal this summer after enduring a difficult season last term, scoring only twice in the Premier League. The 23-year-old became a target of frustrated fans at the Emirates and Arsene Wenger excused him from Arsenal's tour of the Far East to sort out his future.
Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon have both shown interest but have been deterred by Bendtner's transfer fee and wages, but Pulis is considering the option of offering him a fresh start at the Britannia Stadium and the chance to stay in England.
Stoke are battling to bring in at least four or five new signings this summer, with Spurs midfielder Wilson Palacios high on their list of targets, and now Bendtner has emerged as a surprise name on the radar after his representatives held initial talks with the Potters manager.
Pulis said: "We are threadbare at the moment. Fingers crossed we can bring one or two players in over the next few days. The biggest thing we have to do as a football club is improve our recruitment from the lowest level right through to the top level.

"We've brought people in to help us do that and we're really going to concentrate on that and put more resources into it."
Stoke are also bracing themselves for an approach from Manchester City this week for goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen, who is wanted as Joe Hart's No 2.
Sorensen, the Denmark international, has grown frustrated after losing his place to Asmir Begovic but will land a lucrative salary at Eastlands.
Pulis is desperate to bring in at least one signing before the Europa League second leg with Hajduk Split on Thursday night. The club will fly out to Croatia tomorrow (WEDS) as they bid to reach the final qualifying stage of the Europa League, protecting a slender 1-0 lead after Jon Walters' goal at the Britannia.

When I saw that Pulis had put in a bid for Bendtner I wasnt sure what to think. Up until now like most followers of football I didnt have much regard for the style TP offers at the Britannia Stadium but now who knows perhaps he is a better judge of a footballer than I could have imagined. If he does make the switch then I wish the self proclaimed "best striker in the world" every success, and breathe a sigh of relief that we at The Emirates will no longer be dazzled by his multi talents. Good on yer Tony, give us your money asap.

If true then i personally think he would be a fantastic signing.

Mr wenger used to bring him on too play wide right in most of his sub apps.

Nicklas is a striker(look at his record for Denmark), with Matty & Jermaine supplying crosses from the flanks, plus our throw ins & set pieces, that guy would score 20 goals easy.

    SIGN HIM UP TP

Sporting Lisbon have more or less got him. And to be honest the ego of Bendtner and his father will not even a comprehend a move to Stoke.

58 in 204 appearances?? Thats a strike rate of 3.77 games per goal. When you compare that to other leading strikers in the PL....

Rooney 106 in 254 -2.4 games per goal
    Drogba 80 in 164 - 2.05
    Torres 56 in 79 - 1.41
    Berbatov 48 in 132 - 2.75
    Tevez 48 in 121 - 2.52

Also note that he isnt in the top 20 strike rates for PL strikers. Pretty poor in my view when you consider the amazing team he plays in.

Lets look at his international record. Admittedly, 12 goals in 38 games looks pretty good. But, look who he has scored against - Albania, Iceland, Slovenia, Cameroon, Northern Ireland and Poland. And a couple against Portugal - hardly teams that are renowned for their defensive nous.

Bendtner is overated and Wenger realises it. Too good for Stoke? Too sh**e for Arsenal.

I think we need a bit of a reality check here lads. There is NO WAY Bentner will come to stoke. Hes probably on about £60,000 plus a week. Lets atleast look at realistic targets. Barton can **** off aswell!!!. Hes always been trouble and coming to stoke wont change him and once hes signed the contract thats it!.

If the right player came along I am convinced Pulis would push the boat out and pay them £60k a week. Maybe Pulis (for reasons unbeknownst to me) likes Bendtner and would be willing to pay those wages.

Basically what you are saying according to those first stats he scores roughly 1 in 4?

Now try to find out where on his apps for the club did he ACTUALLY play upfront?
Because everytime i see him he is played on the right wing.

While you are at it can you also conjure up the stats for OUR FORWARDS (Stoke) since we came into the the Prem, & then show comparrisons(sp), that would be most welcome.

Most stats 1 argument that shows that a player is ****, whereas another set of stats shows completely different, depends which stats you want to believe.

Nik would be(if we can afford him), ****ing fantastic for Stoke City.

Sgt - Pulis 'likes' Jerome and C.
Cole, so much for his likes!!

One thing I just cannot get to grips with (amongst many I should add!), is why our medical team 'failed' Ba - I really really rate this guy - above Bengnar (sp), Cole AND Jerome put together - IMO of course.

    And who called ME arrogant!!!!

I know Stoke fans that would disagree. The guy may have been played out of position occasionally but his record speaks for itself.
Your argument about the strike rates of Stoke forwards is a seperate one but you are right, you could do with somone who hits the net more often. I just dont think Bendtner is as good as people think by a long way. Id rather have Kenwyn Jones on half the wages Bendtner would cost.

Nicky we gave Carew £52k a week and offered Scholes (can't remember the exact fee) about £80k a week so if there was a player Pulis rated highly, I mean higher than the likes of Jerome and Cole, then I can see him offering a big buck. I imagine Pulis will do the same with Palacios, if the media reports are true that we're in for him again.

How much is Bendtner on? Jones is on £45k a week for the record.

This is the most bizarre reply I've read today, apart from generalising (yeah we ALL think exactly the same, genius. What is a 'typical' Arsenal fan? )it makes no sense.

He'd be a good signing for Stoke - not used nearly enough, or in his best position at Arsenal.

well we in for a £16m swoop for Palacios and Crouch. We would need huge amounts of money for wages for there two. So yeah I believe to that if a player(s) came along that are better than Cole or Jerome, TP will send big bucks

If we signed him he is a fantastic player with a lot of skill too! I remeber that cracking header he scored agianst us, Boothen End fantastic header that was.

I hope it happens because we have two of the best crosser's of the ball in the P.League. I also think that Wenger never really gave him too many chances
to prove how good he actually is. His goals to games ratio is pretty impressive. So, yes please T.P.
