Oh, forgot to mention, I know its an older one but if he can afford a shirt, scarf and hat he cant be that fooking skint.
'Selling his story'? This isnt a celebrity scoop and he wont get paid for this in a million years. I dont know how you think newspapers work.
It's just more bad publicity for the club and Allams and something that could easily have been avoided There also seems to be very little understanding or empathy for diasabled people here
I'm very understanding and have huge empathy, my girlfriend's mother is registered disabled. The point is she would never ask for special treatment when receiving the same product as everyone else and I dont see why these should. As said before - he is getting TWO tickets for the price so it is a very good deal.
Yes there is empathy but just because you are disabled doesnt mean everything should be free or half price. This bloke is an ex teacher. So large pay off and pension for life. Incapacity benefit and high rate DLA. All his medical bills are free through the NHS. He has a disposable income greater than many people of Hull and has the same choice of where he chooses to spend it. As others have said his carers pass is free, literally halfing his pass price.
agree with you 100% mate, fire fighters on sheds loads of money should not get in on the cheap, its great kids get reduced prices though.their are the future of the club, get em going to see the tigers before they get on the man u liverpool bandwagon
Because it wouldve lessened the impact of the story, surely you can see that? I can guarantee that he wasn't 'ill informed', the journo wouldve known full well the details, it's just selective reporting. What he has reported with regard to the price rise is true, but you dont have to report everything else relating to prices. The first rule of journalism is never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
Above is my original posting on this article. I haven't gone into the morality, or otherwise, of the ticket pricing. I think that the fact and the timing of the announcement - at a time when opinions are very divided with regard to the Allams and Nick Barmby's sacking - just shows a severe lack of nous. For that reason I regard it as a PR disaster. ...Or - do you think the owners are totally unaware of fans' feelings?

Am I a firefighter NO but my son is, I have also attended these scenes in my police days and seen some of the horrors that these guys have to deal with, also have been in the forces and dealt with conflict and got no thanks for it by football warriors like you and a few others on here who think it is smart to make off the cuff remarks like you have, hang your head in shame. Back onto topic what is the matter with this guy, I was going to get a cheaper season pass this year due to being 60 but now have to wait another 5 years for it, do I complain about it NO. Football clubs need to get their houses in order or we will see more going into liquidation. I am on a minimum wage BTW
I think disabled people should get in for reduced prices. I would even let helpers in for free - most likely they will be City fans but we don't know, they may be there only to help the disabled people. Going through life as a disabled person can't be easy. We should do all we can to help them have a better quality of life. I wouldn't give them products cheaper because that is open to abuse but I would provide services cheaper.
I have just turned 60 so I am not pleased by the change, either. I don't see why it wasn't 65 previously, though.
So you are saying firemen dont have part time jobs?? Your the one talking ****e. If your son doesnt he is one of the few. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ight-undertakers-teachers-Versace-models.html As an ex copper how many coppers have the energy to go out and do part time jobs. How many nurses have the energy to do another job after a long shift?? Sure when they are called out its a tough job but how many times is that. Mostly they are fast asleep on the night shift refreshed for their day job.
To be fair if you read the article you would realise it was actually the minority rather than the majority that have second jobs if you read the full statistics.
I have been entitled for the cheap pass / tickets for the last 4 seasons BUT I don't want one. I want to be treat the same as everyone else and I have never applied for a free carer ticket. Fact is on DLA I get more then an unemployed person and as much if not more then some people who are working . The extra help means I can afford to get someone to go with me when ever I want or need to go anywhere .. We get a decent deal in the UK . Maybe the moaners should handle there money better ? As I say I do not want special treatment , I can have a free travel pass though that's pointless in away as I don't go anywhere on my own.. If I can't afford to go tough **** plenty who work can't always afford to go either . Some of the tablets I get cost £60 each but I don't have to pay . I don't pay for any of my medical stuff. Not meaning to sound hard hearted or anything but wer all in the same boat with ticket money / season pass money working or not... Me ? I want and need to be treat like everyone else..
As an ex copper how many coppers have the energy to go out and do part time jobs. They are not allowed to do so for one thing. So are you saying that they don't do other things like visiting schools and other establishments and also educating the public when they are not fighting fires etc, if I were you I would not believe everything you believe in the newspapers, oh and BTW they also find time to install fire alarms etc in elderly people's houses. Now I am sorry that they can sleep a little on nights after they have done their drills and other duties, providing people don't call them out to rescue cats from trees etc of course. I could go on but I think I have made my point without having to refer to newspaper clippings from an ill formed reporter who is too damn lazy to get off his backside and do a days honest work.
Why would he bother with such a small detail such as facts as it would lessen his statement? These guys work shifts of 4 days on and 4 off, why should they not be allowed to work extra in their time off? Retained firefighters have other jobs too or they could not live on the call out fees. I do honestly despair when someone makes a comment like has been made on something he obviously know nothing about.
Oh so you agree they do work other jobs. Thats fine. Plenty of people do shifts but they are too fuked after doing shifts to do out else. I arent really bothered what people doing a particular job can get away with, but getting away with it they certainly have been. Still the ex Rovers firefighter did a grand job of moving me into my house a few years back.
Come on Chazz - don't be a twat! Can you predict when a fire/emergency will occur? Cops and nurses have something going on all the time. The next time your house catches fire/ your son gets smashed in a car, do you want no firemen there because you thought they were getting paid for nothing as they spent their time just hanging around?
