Great Western Railway was the only pre-Grouping railway to continue to exist, having a lot of minor Welsh railways added to it. The other railways LMS, LNER and Southern were amalgamations of existing railway companies - the one that ran through Watford Junction being the London and North Western Railway (LNWR), the self-styled "Premier Line". But of course, what else these days.
