I think it's the club now called Hartlepool United. I know they used to be known as Hartlepools United, so I'm guessing the "United" was dropped for a while.
Correct! They changed their name from Hartlepools Utd to plain Hartlepool AFC in the 60s when the boroughs of Hartlepool and West Hartlepool combined. Then changed their name to Hartlepool Utd in the 70s.
