I think Ak has the right person, but for the wrong reason, as the others were all eligible to represent more than one country.
Hazard a guess that John Barnes father represented his country as military attache whereas the others all had parents who represented their country at sport?

Rushton Triangular Lodge "This delightful triangular building was designed by Sir Thomas Tresham (father of one of the Gunpowder Plotters) and constructed between 1593 and 1597.
