I think that this question has brought the thread to a halt, so I will give you the answer and a new question.

1st March 1993 Watford reserves beat Ipswich 4-0. A 25 yd pile driver was scored by the reserve team captain who did not feature in the first team and it was his last season on the playing staff. The goal was awarded goal of the season.

The player was Luther Blissett.
