No. The player in question played for us under, and was given a free transfer by, Glenn Roeder.
The sick note was given to the player as his poor relationship with his new manager - Tommy McLean - was adversely affecting his health.
A centre half, he played a total of 16 league and cup games for Watford before joining Chester on a free transfer.
Yes. After four years at Chester he signed for Dundee United - after just three games there his health deteriorated thanks, according to his GP, to poor treatment by the manager. He left and signed for Barnet.

His signing by Rangers from Nantes caused a bit of angst in fans and staff alike because he was a catholic. Apparently it was the kitman's job to hand out chocolate bars to the players after each game, but he refused to hand one to MJ - then relented after he scored against Celtic.

Colourful music refers to a music festival in the Netherlands - and its location.
Landgraaf in the Netherlands is the largest indoor ski centre in Europe, and Graaf is the Dutch word for a count or earl. I had to google the musical connection to find a festival of Pinkpop in Landgraaf (I have no idea what Pinkpop is) ?

PS - pink pop isn't a musical genre. The festival name is derived from the Dutch word Pinksteren - Dutch for Pentecost, which is when it is normally held.
