Ok - but what was the answer?

A bit convoluted, but two brothers - both international players but for different countries - scored 13 goals between them in two matches whilst playing for different clubs against the same unfortunate opposition. Which brothers and who were the opposition?

The older of the two brothers was capped by the USA.
The younger was capped by England - even though he had never played for an English club, or even in England.

I hate to say yes as there's a good chance that we both saw at least the younger of the two play - I know that I did. ;)

Both started their careers in Scotland before moving to England - the younger via one season in Italy. A prolific goalscorer in both England and Scotland, he was top scorer for Arsenal for three of the four seasons he played for them.

Older brother Gerry played for Man City, Ipswich and Coventry
Younger brother Joe played for Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland
