i have this as a windsor and another name for the one above...![]()
I agree, that's a half Windsor. A Windsor does both sides and it's twice as thick. My Dad taught me that one, and I still wear the half Windsor - with most ties. A full Windsor looks like you're trying to make some statement! I believe, without checking it was the old Duke of Windsor who advocated the Windsor as thick knots were the fashion. That is the knot I always used and was told it was a half Windsor many years ago, I still havre a couple of ties with the knot in place in case of emergency

I'll give it to you Duggie....Half Windsor
Ties are ridiculous IMO....Not an answer here just a silly remark - How intelligent is it really (for those who apparently run the World) to begin each day by tying a noose around their necks, something which, historically, was associated only with slaves and those being hung![]()
They're funny things. I have loads of Watford ones, including one that is older than most of my colleagues. It's very early 80s, I think.Ties are ridiculous IMO....
I remember over 30 years ago when i worked in the himalayas and ran the VSO programme..... . trekking in this remote village a days hike away with a suite and tie on! Never again except for weddings and funerals! They're funny things. I have loads of Watford ones, including one that is older than most of my colleagues. It's very early 80s, I think.![]()
