The elephants studied were in a national park in Mozambique - during a time period that included the Mozambican civil war.
As an evolutionary process Elephants were being born without tusks - a process which may be evolutionary in that it makes them less attractive to hunters. Swallows are starting to be born with shorter wings in order to be safer from cars. Both cases in which animals are evolving to better protect themselves from us ?

Cheers BB. Which famous musician was descended from a Lord Mayor of London, with whom he also shared the same family name ?
There was a Lord Mayor of London called Brass Crosby. Bing Crosby had ancestors from the UK. If there is a direct link though I don't know.

Thanks cologne.
The charge was to create a game that was easy to assimilate, yet complex enough to be interesting. It had to be playable indoors or on any kind of ground, and by a large number of players all at once. It should provide plenty of exercise, yet without the roughness of football, soccer, or rugby since those would threaten bruises and broken bones if played in a confined space.

What was the game that came out of it?
