Should be quite easy now. Just to sum up: One of 5 so called 'Blue Zones' ie. areas of mucher higher than normal longevity, which has, along with Okinawa island in Japan, the highest number of centenarians Worldwide. A European region (ie. with representation in the EU. Parliament) and a former Hornets manager was born there.

Got to be Sardinia then.
It is Sardinia Frenchie. Apparently they have more centenarians per 100,000 population than anywhere else in Europe, and are equal top with the Japanese island of Okinawa in this respect. Whether the development of tourism in some parts of the island will have a negative influence on this remains to be seen - they say that Corsica is like Sardinia was 20 years ago in this respect. Over to you.

A further clue. All three were the same, but from different eras and different classes, but they all had one thing in common.

Cologne was on the right track when he asked about shipping.
All classes of ship ? I can only think of 2
Cologne was on the right track when he asked about shipping.
I know of 2 ships by the name of Rothesay - one was HMS Rothesay, but there is nothing really famous about that one. The other was a sailing vessel of the 19th century which was fever stricken at sea and the captaincy was taken over by a certain Bessie Hall (becoming probably the first female ship's captain in the process) and successfully reaching Liverpool from Nova Scotia. Am I barking up the wrong tree ?
