Was it as a result of a chariot racing event ? Something like this happened in Byzantium I believe - in Constantinople.Sort of Roman.
That's the one. The Blues and the Greens were supported by different political factions. The Palace was next to the stadium. The emperor supported the Blues.. On January 13th, 532, at race 32 (I don't know what happened in this race) the crowd charged the palace..Was it as a result of a chariot racing event ? Cheers NZ. In 1931 a greater part of Baker Street in London was strewn with a layer of straw, why ?
Because Arnold Bennett was dying, and the straw was laid down to deaden the noise.
All yours Frenchie. Apparently this was a common practice at one time and this was probably the last time it was done. Take it away.I guess a game or puzzle of some sort. The Rubik Cube ?Yes some practices that existed in my childhood have vanished, such as everyone pulling their curtains on the day of a funeral if someone died from their street.
The world record for this is 4.22 seconds. The inventor took a month. What is it?

Cheers Frenchie. Which is the only country in the World which has the 'Rights of Nature' enshrined in its constitution. It also has the most biodiversity per square kilometre Worldwide ?That is it cologne. All yours!
All yours Barry. As you say Ecuador is very clear on this and stipulates that at least 32% of the land area must be protected from all human activity, apart from simply walking through it. Nobody really knows what the Swiss statute means or what is allowed where - you can, for example, build a house on national parks there subject to certain restrictions, which you could never do in Ecuador. Over to you.Ecuador. However, Switzerland does have an article recognising the rights of nature in its constitution, but there is still ambiguity as to what it actually means, where the Ecuadorian one is very clear
