Didn't expect that ! O.K. a difficult one. There is one political party in Germany (part of a ruling coalition at the federal state level) which issues all of it's manifestoes bilingually ie. in German and in another language. What is the other language ?
Very good guess but not Turkish - a couple of parties have some posters in Turkish - but the party I am thinking of has all of it's documentation in another language.
A couple of clues here. The language is the second most used language in German internal politics. It is used most extensively in a part of Germany which was once part of another country.
No, not that end of Germany. The political party is the only one which is guaranteed representation, both in Berlin and regionally, regardless of their election results. The supporters of this party are very unhappy about football at the moment.
Would that be the federal state of Schleswig Holstein where there is a sizeable Danish population?
It is indeed Danish. The S.S.W. represents the German Danish speaking minority in Schleswig Holstein. Schleswig was separated into North Schleswig (Now in Denmark) and South Schleswig (Now in Germany) - with there being linguistic minorities in both countries. The Danish border was once much further south and incorporated some areas now belonging to Hamburg. The S.S.W. has permanent representation in the parliament in Schleswig Holstein (not having to reach the 5% hurdle) and also an office in Berlin. The exact number of this minority is not known because German law prohibits government registration of persons due to ethnic origins. Very funny to see what happens when Denmark play Germany in football - some villages up there in the north support Germany whilst others are cheering for Denmark. Over to you BB.
The Puckle gun was recently mentioned on QI - the square bullets didn't work as well as hoped because aerodynamically, they were crap. Part of the accuracy of standard bullets is to do with their shape.
