A welsh bank to enable drovers taking cattle down to London to get credit to buy the cattle in Wales and bank their income in London when they sold the cattle so they owuldnt be robbed on the way home and pick up their profit back in Wales Story is very interesting https://www.localdroveroads.co.uk/the-bank-of-the-black-ox/
Where I lived in England, a road that the drovers used was known as Welsh Lane, a main route on the way to London. Along the length of the road, you can still see the stone enclosures where the cattle or sheep were safely kept overnight. I didn't know about the money though.
Was tempted to say something about similar strips but a) they're not and b) can't find anything they have in common at all.
Cheers Yorkie. What record does an Aston Villa player hold that can never be broken - and which player?
Peter McParland was the first Villa player who went to the World Cup Finals with Northern Ireland in 1958, or David Platt being the first Villa player to score for in England in a World Cup in 1990
