    Yes - the guy in the middle was Scottish rugby player James Robertson, known to be the first ever black rugby player in the world during his university days in Edinburgh. After gaining a medical degree from there, he moved to Ashwell in Hertfordshire and opened a GP practice.

    Ada Lovelace. She was Lord Byron's daughter. Lord Byron fought for Greek independence. She worked with Charles Babbage on the first computer, the differential(?) engine.

    Just after the fall of Communism in Czechoslovakia who did the the new Czech president,Vaclav Havel, attempt to make "Special Ambassador to the West on Trade, Culture and Tourism" ? Why did the US stop this appointment?

    I think it was Frank Zappa ? Exactly why the Americans opposed this appointment I don't know though there are many possibilities.
