Was it the discovery of coffee by kaldi an Ethiopian goatherder who noticed his goats were a bit frisky after eating certain berries.. So he took them to a local sufi temple?
It was indeed Yorkie. He took the beans to the Sufi and he was initially not impressed and so threw them in the fire - upon noticing the fragrance they scrambled them out again and tried to dissolve them in water - thus creating the first cup of coffee (nearly). Or at least so is the legend - all this happened around 850 AD when the difference between legend and fact was more fluid. Nice story anyway - I would have loved to have seen the goats ! Over to you.
ah i have just read this.... from an Israeli space ship that crashed on the moon! 'Tardigrades - often called water bears - are creatures under a millimetre long that can survive being heated to 150C and frozen to almost absolute zero' .
Monty Panesar said he was from Bedford, rather than Luton, but that can’t be unique enough for a pub quiz question. Surely?
Thanks, yorkshire. You can’t blame Monty, though, can you? How many league games have Watford played from Sept 1898 to date?
