Cheers Yorkie. It is well known that there is a slight difference between the British and the American mile. The English Medieval mile was 1,900 metres (using a modern comparison) - Elizabeth 1 shorted this to its present distance. My question - what are the shortest, and longest miles ever used in the British Isles ?
Good guesses Dave, but unfortunately wrong. I should hasten to add that neither of these are still used.
