Cheers Yorkie. The only European clubs to have done this are Lazio Rome and IFK Malmö - what was it ? Worldwide - Esporte Clube Cruzeiro and Atletico Kimberley have done it as well (as a helpfull clue ).
They were both World Cup years - did they lend their kit to one of the sides playing in a match they were hosting so the difference between the kits was more noticeable on TV?
I think you're close enough Barry. In 1934 Austria were due to play Germany and, apparently, realized too late that both played in white - neither side had a reserve kit with them and so Austria played in the borrowed kit of Lazio Rome. The same thing happened when Argentina turned up in Sweden without an alternative kit in 1958 and had to borrow kit from Malmö. So Lazio Rome and IFK Malmö are the only European clubs to have had their kit used for the World Cup. Over to you.
There are no British referees at the World Cup, but there will be an assistant referee born in England there. What is his name and which country is he listed as representing?
You've got it - I got the information from exactly the same source yesterday lunchtime. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the story this morning, so I had to check on the official FIFA World Cup website.
