Assuming I am correct, here is the next question:

i am a duke who was posthumously made a king of a country which no longer exists.
In Britain I am connected to Boxing Day but this is not my feast day.
A number of songs have been written about me.
who am I?

The time in NZ is 3.40 a.m. at the moment so confirmation could take a while. Having researched with google I am pretty sure that AK is correct with Northampton. So, go for it AK.

There was a university in Northampton in 1261 but it closed. I do not know if there was a charter for the school.

You are correct Ak. Northampton University was given a Royal Charter in 1261 and was dissolved in 1265 after protests from Oxford. It w also made illegal for Northampton to have a university. Tis law must have been rescinded in 2005 to allow a new university there.

Your turn now.

I think that the law was passed in 1989 or 1990 as it was the one that meant Polytechnics and Colleges of Higher/Further Education became Universities. I started at the Polytechnic of Wales and after the end of my first year, in the summer of 1992, it became the University of Glamorgan. Not bad for an institution that started out as the Trefforest School of Mining!

Probably Paris even if you discount the communes around the perimeter with their densely populated housing estates. A bit different to here where we have 5.7 people to a sq/km.
