Was this the resurrected Sheriff of London Shield ? The last 2 were won by Watford against Corinthian Casuals.

That's the one - I watched the 1966 win, a 7-0 romp with a rare goal by Chopper Welbourne & a hat trick by Denis Bond - but missed the second one, in which I believe Graham Taylor made a substitute appearance.

Not that I've ever played the game, but - golfers shout 'Fore' before taking a shot, which is a modified version of which word?

I thought it was modified from before, but don't know why. It sounds odd, unless it means take cover before the ball hits you on the head.
