He did, but I'm not sure he was the first to do that. I'm thinking of something more adventurous for the era...
I think he was certainly searching for adventure...Wow. Did they have iPads back then?
He was invited to do this in October 1910 in St Louis, Missouri whilst campaigning for the Republican party - refused at first, then changed his mind.
