Off Topic Psycho Pilot!

Just been watching the news and I just can't believe that a pilot would deliberately fly a plane into the side iof a mountain! Yes I know Al Qaeda did something similar but surely this wasn't down to an act of terrorism. What would make someone do such a wicked despicable thing?

It just beggars belief!

I heard on the lunchtime news that this would appear to be what has happened. And yes the big question is why. Will the police now find religious paraphanalia hidden in his room,on his computer or has he had some sort of mental breakdown. How terrible for his folks,one day getting sympathy the next find their son is a murderer. What seemed at first like a terrible accident is now a deliberate act of murder. Thoughts go out to all families who have lost a loved one,

I really struggle to understand why you would want to take your own life but to take the lives of so many complete innocent strangers is just incomprehensible.!

A truly dreadful appalling story and one's heart aches for all families affected. One just cant make sense of it all.

One thing for sure is that airlines must screen all pilots regularly for mental issues, those historical medical records and perhaps those silent & hidden. And similarly, they should have mandatory cockpit door security/ emergency release systems fitted - and checked every flight.

We seem to live in a world besett by such tragic news...almost daily. Will we fly again, of course, but maybe not quite yet!
